    This week's games

    Tuesday, April 21st

Tractor vs. Nasaf Qarshi, 18:00 local time, 14:30 CET, 09:30 EST. Tractor lost the 1st leg 2-1. They need maximum points from this game, although mathematically they would not be eliminated with a tie.

Al-Sadd vs. Foolad, 19:00 local time, 17:00 CET, 12:00 EST. First leg ended in a 0-0 draw. Foolad need a win to stay alive, anything else and they'll be eliminated tomorrow. They will also be hoping for a tie or Lokomotiv win against Al-Hilal in the earlier game to have any chance of clinching one of the spots in two weeks' time.

    Wednesday, April 22nd

Naft vs. Pakhtakor, 19:00 local time, 15:30 CET, 10:30 EST. Naft loss the first leg 2-1. They will qualify to the next round with a win tomorrow. A tie or loss could put a major dent in their chances to qualify since their last game is against the 2nd placed Al Ain in the UAE and Pakhtakor has a relatively easy game at home against Al-Shabab.

Lekhwiya vs. Perspolis, 18:30 local time, 16:30 CET, 11:30 EST. PP won the 1st leg 3-0. They will qualify to the next round with a win, a tie if Al-Nassr doesn't beat Bunyodkor, or even a loss if Bunyodkor beats Al-Nassr.

I hope Perspolis beat Lekhwiya again, just because their coach is the great Dane Michael Laudrup

If Teraktor can't beat Nasaf at home and finish bottom of their group for a 3rd straight year they should be banned from representing Iran in the acl

Thank you Bi-Honar jaan, I just wish like before we could have a dedicated thread for each Matchday, that way no one would miss out the matches, plus avoid digging through pages to find each match's updates and reports.

its so true, they are a strong team that suffers from crappy defending in ACL.

Might be 15:30 CET and not 14:30 !!!???

Interesting result (for a few reasons) from earlier today:

Western Sydney Wanderers (AUS) 1 - Kashima Antlers (JPN) 2

If you recall, WSW is the defending ACL champions and they had beaten Kashima 3-1 in Japan!

Kashima had been sitting at the bottom of Group H from match day 1 and they were expected to make an early exit, but for the moment move into 2nd place with the FC Seoul - Guangzou game tied 0-0 in minute 67.

I that result stays Guangzhou will qualify to the next round as the group leader, but all the other 3 teams will still have a crack at the 2nd spot in match day 6.

Also, the Lokomotiv vs. Al Hilal game is tied 0-0 at half time.

                        Today's results so far:

                        Group H

                        WSW 1 - Kashima 2 (FT)
                        FC Seoul 0 - Guangzhou 0 (FT)

Notes: Guangzhou qualify as the group winners. 2nd spot wide open with FC Seoul, Kashima 6 points, WSW 5 points.

                        Group G

                        Urawa 1 - Suwon 2 (FT)
                        Beijing 0 - Brisbane 1 (69')

Notes: Urawa become the 2nd team from East Asia to be eliminated. Suwon 2nd team from East Asia to qualify to the 2nd round. Brisbane need this win to stay in it, although their chances of making the next round will still be very slim (they need a high margin win in their last game and have to hope that Beijing will not get any points in their last game against Suwon.

                        Group C

                        Lokomotiv 1 - Al Hilal 2 (FT)

Notes: TERRIBLE result for Foolad. They not only have to win both their games now, but they have to hope that Al-Hilal (at home) beats or ties Al-Sadd in the last game. Al-Hilal becomes the 1st team from West Asia to qualify to the next round. Interestingly enough, Lokomotiv are still in it with 4 points if Foolad beats Al-Sadd.

P.S. I got an out-of-town meeting today, so will miss both games. Hope you guys enjoy them and we get both wins and look forward to seeing your reports.

They want to skip ACL for Iran Pro League. Idiot coach.

Sadly it seems like it... But on the other hand it's probably the boards decision and not Tonis
