Well I hope that Sadeghian will learn to minimize the hashieh under Branko.

I'm very excited to see Branko work with the team! I have a good feeling about him!

You can't compare Ali Karimi to Sadeghian. Karimi at 23 was so consistent and could change the game at anytime with his magical moves. I'd say Ali Karimi still at age of 37 is much better than Sadeghian at 23

The Saudis are so butthurt by the loss that a Saudi site has already made up 4 excuses for al nassr loss.

        1. Bad ref

        2. Bad luck

        3. Bad finishing by al nassr forwards

        4. Perspolis players being dirty and rough

People here were so quick to throw Gabriel under the bus in his first 2 games in Iran. Just shows how reactionary the majority of people here are.

Look at him now. Returning from injury showed how instrumental Gabriel is in the midfield. His presence can definitely be felt, and his absence was definitely felt as well.

Credit to PP, Gabriel was a very good foreign purchase. Hope he sticks around for next season as well.

PERSEPOLIS SET NEW AFC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ATTENDANCE RECORD

Kuala Lumpur: Last Wednesday’s 1-0 win for Persepolis over Al Nassr set a new attendance record for the AFC Champions League it has been announced.
Some 100,000 spectators packed into Tehran’s Azadi Stadium to see the Iranian side beat their Group A rivals from Saudi Arabia and register the competition’s highest attendance figure since its inception in 2002-03.

The impressive statistic surpassed the previous record of 96,200 which was established when Persepolis entertained Qatar’s Al Gharafa in 2012 also at the Azadi Stadium.

Top Five AFC Champions League Attendances

              1. Persepolis v Al Nassr April 8, 2015 (Azadi Stadium) = 100,000

              2. Persepolis v Al Gharafa April 17, 2012 (Azadi Stadium) = 96,200

              3. Esteghlal v Buriram United August 21, 2013 (Azadi Stadium) = 95,300

              4. Persepolis v Bunyodkor May 27, 2009 (Azadi Stadium) = 95,225

              5. Esteghlal v FC Seoul October 2, 2013 (Azadi Stadium) = 88,330

All 5 top attendances are from Iran.

We are the fans that complain the most about stadium attendance, yet our stadiums are more filled than everyone in Asia... Our relegation threatened teams get more attendance than other country ACL teams yet tomorrow someone is going to say that our stadiums are empty.

^ I think people who say the stadiums are empty mostly mean the league games which are from a few exceptions, not highly attended.

Our stadiums are not filled during league games but still superior to most other countries in Asia.

Naft Masjed, promoted team, are 15th in the league. Check their attendance for yourself: http://www.transfermarkt.com/naft-ma...saison_id/2014 They have a 8,000 capacity stadium and most of the time it's filled/almost filled.

At the end of the day what matters is that other teams/countries are not even close to our attendances during the ACL, whether it's West Asian teams or East Asian ones. We even have more fans than teams from massively populated countries like China.

China doesn't have stadiums with 100,000 capacity, the Biggest stadium in CSL is Woker's stadium of Beijing Guo'an with 66,161 seasts, and could only open 80% of it's stands according to Chinese Laws for safety reason

Well we have to realize that have no proper entertainment in Iran ( ie movie theatres, arcades, night clubs, ets. ) so peoples limited entertainment revolves around soccer stadiums ....This is a plus for and this is what has kept us in the ACL with 3.5 teams, or else AFC would have cut it down to 1 or 2 teams, Also, if we can resolve the broadcasting rights and allow more freedom( ie IRanian women in Stadiums) then AFC will award bigger competitions to us..

Yes there is Movie theaters and arcades are very popular in the big cities. I've went to both and it's just as good as North America. There are underground night clubs too. And just because Iranians teams didn't do well last year doesn't mean the quota of teams should go down. Over the past few years iranian teams were the most consistent teams in the west acl along with the Saudis.

There are movie theaters, but 90% of the films are crap.
