I hope for the day that Iran can boast considerable accomplishment in multiple sports for women. With all the troubles these women go through I have nothing but the utmost respect for them.

Some updates and just to recap a fantastic year for our womens football:

TM- TM Women lost 1-0 to Uzbekistan in a friendly on February 8. TM are preparing for the Olympic Qualifiers in March. We have been placed with Laos and Chinese Taipei in Group C of the first round. We play Laos on March 22 and Chinese Taipe on March 25.

U-19- A little while after the U-16's, TM U-19 became the second ever Iranian NT to make a continental tournament. The AFC U-19 Championship will be contested by 8 teams and also held in China simuntaneously to the U-16 edition. Top 3 earn a spot in 2016 U-20 womens world cup.

U-16- If some members have forgotten, our girls are the first Iranian NT ever (from all levels, tm, omid, u-19) to make the continental tournament (make it past the qualifiers). The AFC U-16 Championship will be contested by 8 teams and held in China from November 4-15. The top 4 teams make the 2016 u-17 world cup in Jordan.

Our TM beat Laos 5-1 in the first round of qualifying, we will Chinese Taipei next. We only need a draw to advance to the next round.

This is interesting... We have few women here on the forums. You'd think they should show presence and contribute. Currently it feels like the 3rd world around here.

I really hope to see the day our ladies can compete in the Women's World Cup.

As I posted in the Women's World Cup thread:

It's nice to see women's football developing in parts of the world.

Meanwhile in Iran with their hejabs...
