Can someone please explain to me why we need to have a training camp in Portugal, rather than Iran, so IPL teams have to release their players for longer and would be more likely to object?! Do we have any friendlies lined up in Portugal?

Are we seriously lacking facilities to the point that CQ couldn't find something in Iran to match a 2nd or 3rd rate Portuguese facility? I'm just confused because the training camp in S. Africa was anything special and frankly I don't even understand what the purpose of that camp was with a dozen players. Why repeat the same mistake?

Exactly my thoughts....as if playing FC Penafiel (or whatever club we get in Portugal) will prepare us for games against National Teams? That was the strategy pre-WC, when we played ridiculous low quality S. African teams on terrible pitches (worst than some Asian pitches)...which by the way were commented upon by IFF officials, and media. Fact is, other AC and WC nations played terrific friendlies, don't believe me look at the thread about our opponents in AC. A primary way to test and develop your skill is to play stronger opponents than yourself...the Japanese, Koreans, Australians, and Persian Gulf nations have all figured that out. I guess CQ believes the Orlando Pirates S. African club team is skill enough for our boys...although I would rather they play Vietnam once rather than some low level club team 10x.

We have no option to get any friendly matchs and he just are canceling already planed matchs.
Ac will start in 3 month and have lot to do. Why they do that , total brainless.
Again lajbazi? Other better friendly games? To lazy ?

simply because CQ doesn't want Iran to be fucked up against Venezuela! He certainly knows that TM has not the quality at the moment to bypass a two-month hole after the World Cup. They need to come together first and get used to each other again. The Korea match should be enough to see where Iran stands...

You are a mod, try to post quality stuff on the forum. Seriously, even a 2 year old child knows that even a 20% fit Iran squad wont get treated the way you described. We are talking about Iran here not Sri Lanka or Bangladesh.

So Cq are afraid to play against the 66 world ranking( its not germany )and he preferred to make no preparation?

Our Ac opponents did 2-3 freindly games agains good teams.
And u mean we have to wait see where iran stands against korea ? Will we get new tm players from Mars until the korea match ?

Can't find the article now but basically Venezuela has decided to cut their Asian tour short so they are no longer travelling to West Asia hence the game is canceled.

I am not sure why people are picking on the Portugal camp. NTs usually do overseas based camp because it is the best way to train and build chemistry in the team while being away from the side issues of the home soil. In terms of friendlies during Portugal camp, they will need to very light so even local league teams will be more than enough as it is a the first camp and it is mostly around team getting used to each other.

I think as TM fans now there are two camps, one camp likes CQ and the other camp doesn't. The camp that doesn't like CQ is starting to just pick on everything he does even simple trivia things like a light first camp.

I genuinely believe that CQ believes that the team will gain more from more intense physical training for the AC rather than quality friendly matches.
