Club friendlies are nothing weird my brother. We don't have to look at other nations, just trust on CQ. South Korea, Japan and Australia had all decent friendlies but they all finished 4th in their group like us at the WC. No big deal.

it goes back to mismanagement by IFF and not having a outlook to the future. most countries have their FIFA days filled 2-3 years in advance but in iran IFF works on a day to day bases.

the mentality is lets survive today and we will be okay for tomorrow!!

at least with CQ we have some sort of planning ahead of time for the next 4-6 month, and CQ put an order for IPL scheduling, hazfi cup etc....... just few years ago we had trouble planning IPL games!! at least IPL is more on track the last few years, with games being played, few to no cancellation etc...
        IRI = FAILED

So ya'll think those clubs will field their A teams when they are busy with leagues, cups, CL and EL? That's cute. We can't defend it cause it's CQ, IFF are at fault here. I still think its weird and kind of embarrasing we keep preparing by playing clubs.

IFF neither can effectively arrange friendlies, nor afford any decent ones..!!
one of the biggest pluses about CQ being our coach is that at least he has decent hook ups with clubs in his home country or other countries where he has had a spell of coaching..!!

those friendlies we got pre WC in SA was mostly due to the efforts and contacts of CQ..!! same is true with these planned friendlies vs clubs in Portugal and SA pre AC..!! If it weren't for him IFF alone probably woulda struggled to arrange any other decent friendlies and/or we woulda gotten a bunch of planned and subsequently guaranteed canceled ones..!

for IFF that is one way to justify the high salary of Carlos as opposed to sum cheap domestic or Eastern EU C grade coach.!

Thank god for CQ. If it wasn't for him we would have never played Belarus, Montenegro, Angola, Mozambique etc. It's not like we were playing Brazil or Russia before he came.

Afazeli resign from TM technical Committee. Last week he resigned from U22.

^^^ Iranian Football has bee a dog and pony show for quite some time now, but recently they've added a lot of nice clowns to the act as well!

Although he has a point that he shouldn't be finding these things out on the radio, it's probably better if he wasn't there in the first place.

Seeing the Glass as half full...

                                Dear:
I recall Afazeli took Omid after Ghelyoongate when Mansourian resigned only 2-3 weeks prior to Oman Tournament (I was there in Muscat and attended the games and meet players). He took the job reluctantly when no one dare or volunteer to take it.
He did not do well and was criticized. Since then he refused several time IFF offer to be assistant to vingada and he refused and made his reasoning public. When time was running out and Vingada still in Dubai despite contract, He accepted to start the process and invited over 100 players for trial and training. When Vingada arrived he only needed to work with selected player but he Said he does not know these players and unable to go to the same process. Under such condition Afazeli accepted to be with the team as advisor and help not as assistant. Only weeks before Incheon game he accepted to be assistant when IFF refused hiring someone else.

I have my serious disagreement with his approach and analysis but really it's unfair to lay the blame on him.
CQ as a Team Monitor , Vingada as a coach and IFF are responsible.

                                As for Tech Committee:
At lease he resigned, much more honorable than those who stay.
