The IPL is just a horrible league from every perspective. It seems like we have it as if it's just a mandatory thing to have.

We laugh at qatar's none-existent spectators, but Iran is slowly falling into the same category. Most the games fail to reach crowds even close to WNBA.

There must be a rise in professionalism.

I think so too. Why should someone drive to a stadium for 1 or 2 hours, wait there 1 hour and then watch a game for 1.5hours and then he drive home? Thats not ok for iranian people. Many have economic or private problems and cant just join the stadium like in europe.

Comments from the South African Football Federation after the conclusion of the AFCON draw:

"To prepare themselves for the dog-eat-dog group, Safa are lining up friendlies against West and North African opponents within the next month before the start of the showpiece on January 17. Kujane also hinted at a possible camping period outside South Africa.

Kujane was in Cameroon on Friday with a scheduled trip to Gabon the following day to set up friendly matches for Bafana.

Other friendly possibilities include Iran, coached by former Bafana mentor Carlos Queiroz and who are reportedly already in the country.

Iran surprised many by qualifying for the Brazil World Cup this year and conducted themselves commendably when they gave eventual finalists Argentina their toughest group stage game.

The Iranians are preparing for the Asian Cup, which starts in Australia from January 9, meaning a sparring match between the two nations would be mutually beneficial."

December 12th 19 players for the South Africa camp will be announced: 3 goalies and 16 players.
Foreign based players will NOT take part in South Africa camp, only domestic players it seems.

I like the fact that our bench players will get a chance to work to get playing time now, it'll be a good opportunity to see who can do what on the international level and give us a good idea of what we have heading into the AC.
