The year of Italian Coaches

This year italian managers won

- Serie A ( Conte)
- Russian league ( Spalletti)
- FA CUP ( Di Matteo)
- English league ( Mancini)
- Champions league ( Di Matteo)

Ancelotti could've won ligue 1 but he got 2nd place

I say TM gets an italian coach if CQ doesnt work out. Remember Zacharoni with Japan winning asian cup.

The fa cup is a worthless cup these days. And if your going to count the russian league too, you must think of all the non italian coaches who have won trophies this year across Europe.

Name me spanish coaches that won anything in Europe ? But no spanish cups or europea league cause they won it with an Spanish team. dosnt count.

I never really mentioned Spanish just non Italian in general. Considering tha large proportion of top league teams who have italian coaches, you would expect a large proportion of the winning teams to have italian coaches. Its all relative. Also the fact that the op is using just this season (mainly because of di matteo) and using worhtless cups like the fa cup can't really prove a point. Yes Italian coaches are renowned for being good tacticians which is why alot of teams have italian coaches, but this reasoning doesnt justify anything.

Also as moustache said, defensive is like mancini when he puts on nigel de jong on instead of a striker when their beating a shit team by only one goal at home in the 60th minute, not necessarily chelsea barcelona 2nd leg.

I dont get what your problem is with this thread. ITs merely pointing out the success of italian coaches THIS year, which is fact. And when you talk about TOP leagues....what did i really leave out? la liga and bundesliga? like i said go ahead and name the coaches of what you think are top leagues and the coaches that won it. and if FA cup is garbage then so must be many other competitions in europe. So what your arguing actually makes no sense....name your top prestiges competions and then name the coaches so we have a clear understanding of your point.
I dont get why some people on this board PMS and get their panties in a bunch everytime someone mentions something successful an italian team or coach did. facts are facts and give credit where its due...i always do even if i hate the team or player. Maybe u guys should also learn to not be so biased. Its ok to hate a certain team or style of football but to come up with excuses and discredit things is just childish and get u no credibility.

and you do know that Italain coaches are very defensive minded. Now bring one of them to Iran and people will jump on them for playing "tarsoo football", not suiting TM, destroying our offense bla bla bla bla... just look at some of the posts of some members here...

WE DO NOT DESERVE any of those good Italian coaches.

man italy played defensive football in like 60s and its stuck with them. lol
u cannot play defensive football these days...of all the goals man city, juve, zenit and even chelsea scored, u cant tell me they're defensive. especially in EPL. Chelsea-bayern CL final being the exception and thats cuz chelsea just sucks lol....but juve won games on dominating possession for example.

as far as iran, i think we do need someone that can teach us defense cuz we've sucked at that shit forever. lol we're missing some basics

Well thats where you are wrong!
You can play ultra defensive and score 4:0, 5:0 in a game.
And thats what Italian teams and coaches to best. You know why?
Cause their teams adapted their system well. Iranians can never adapt that type of system!

So, please dont tell me Juve scores this much goals so they dont play defensive. They play defensive and score goals = Modern football.

i consider defensive, what north korea and new zealand do. park the bus and hope to catch a counter. That is not how juve or italy play.

Playing defensive football doesnt neccesarily mean what you described above. read my previous post.
I am not talking abouyt Inter Milan Cattenaccio of 60ies... I am talking about Italy at WC 2006! meawwww
