Yes, there were problems in the first and second surgery (one didn't work out properly and then there was an infection), if I recall correctly.
And now he is out less then a year, I don't think that is so much. He is expected to be back in training before summer, so I don't think it's an annatural long break and definitely don't rule out a successful comeback simply due to the length of his absence.
He and also we have to be patient.
All the best wishes to him, looking forward to see him back in action.

Guys I don´t even know exactly what his injury is specifically. I am basing my assumption merely on the time that has gone. One of the hardest injuries in sportmedicin which has a long recuperation time is a teared Cruciate ligament (ACL) of the knee. But even that operation shouldn´t take a year to recover from.
If the case in fact is a broken toe or something like that, then he should have recovered fully 3-6 months after injury. Generally in orthopedics we say it takes a bone something around 12 weeks or 3 months to heal. So Unless there have been complications, I simply don´t understand why he has been gone for so long. And now I am thinking, it´s another wasted talent that never recovers fully from injury like Navidkia!

I wouldn't put Shojaei on the bench of a u16 girls house league team..

^and Mohsen Bayatinia is the greatest Iranian player ever. Your "logic" is very much in doubt...

No, he isnt and nobody called him like that. How many goals has Mohsen Bayatinia scored in La Liga?
Oh wait, did he even play there?
Ok, how many goals has he scored for TM?
Anyway, the discussion is not about Mohsen Bayatinia but your nonsense statements. You can say and think what you want, but to offend Shojaei like that is too much. Show more respect to a player who managed to play in one of the best leagues of the world. Not only that, he also used to be a starter and was a decent player for Osasuna, several times he made us proud with his good performance in Spain.
Then again, its abvious you are just another PFDC troll that spams us with absurd threads/posts/opinions...

Anyone trying to discredit Shojaei's play really does not know what they are saying.
He has been a great player for Osasuna, often a starter under three different coaches they have had these past few years: Ziganda, Camacho, and Mendilibar.
He is not known for his goals, but his assists and play-making ability, which has made him a favorite among the Osasuna fans.
Shojaei has also been a great link for TM and once he recovers will only give us another great player to chose for our midfield.

I am really tired of this Shojaei bashing since the AC. Poor guy had a bad time and was unlucky, but we fans have nothing better to do than bash him. We bash/insult so much, but forget so fast and easy. Please wake up your mind! You can hate him as much as you want, but let me remind you how the same person saved our ass several times last WCQ:
Goal - vs. Saudi Arabia | A very important and beautiful goal even if we messed it up at the end.
Goal - vs. South Korea | Another very important goal
Assist - vs. Saudi Arabia | He touched the ball with his head before Nekounam scored
Assist - vs. UAE | Iran won 1-0, thank to a nice assist by Shojaei
Assist - vs. UAE | Bagheri saved us from an embarrassment, again Shojaei gave a nice assist
Assist - vs. North Korea | Shojaei assisted the winning goal of Nekounam
Shojaei might not be the next Karimi, might not score a hattrick all the time in La Liga, might not play like Messi... or whatever else.
But he has proven himself to be a decent and effective player in important matches and can help TM a lot to improve. There must be a reason why he played in La Liga as a starter for his team, alaki ke nist.
I am sure he is more angry and sad about his unsuccessful AC than anyone else. Additionally he was unlucky to injury himself like that and be out for more than a year. Let's be fair and support him as much as possible.
