He will be their number #7.
First Iranian to play in Ligue 1. Just a couple of years ago in 2013 he was working as a telephone operator, now he is playing Ligue 1 football. Take a bow, Saman Ghoddos!
Forget the jersey! Where's the contract?!
I wish the man well and I'm confident he'll tear it up but there ain't no man, woman or child gonna make me start watching Ligue 1 games regularly.
From the size of his smile in the picture, he is happy as hell to leave Ostursends lol.
Ken Sema goes to watford and Saman ghoddos goes to Amiens. Let that sink in. At least its over now.
the owner is a fucking prick and for I care he can rot in hell. Didnt sell him to Celta Vigo, Huesca, Rennes, or Freiburg. Let him go to the WORST team possible. Saman dragged that crap team so far in Europa League, Swedish League, won them a cup, etc. And his only dream was to go to spain, and he had two offers to do so.
At least he is done with that shit club, now hes at another shit club, but in a much less shitty league. He will be their best player immediately, one excellent season in this place and he can escape to where he belongs, a top team.
Amiens really isn't looking good this season, not one point sitting at the bottom of the table. Hopefully not a relegation team!
First take deep, deep breath.
Ok, now let's look at some positives. 1. He is going to play in the same leauge as Neymar 2. The club gave him #7 which means more than likely they have high expectations for him and he can be star of the team (which leads me to point 3) 3. Him being star of this team means he is more likely to move to a huge club (Amiens is not his final destination) Bonus: If he preforms well in Amiens we can establish Ligue 1 into how Belgium is with Iranian players
I am normally quite a positive member actually, especially recently with all the good moves happening. Watford has made a great start to the new season, filled with quality players, including one that was sold for 50million EU this summer. Also the most visible league in the world. Im not saying watford is amazing, but its better than the 14th team in france at any rate, with a very minor fan base and no quality players of note. I think saman should be in a team better than amiens and watford.
Yes, I expect more from the guy chosen as "Best attacker in Sweden", who scored and/or assisted nearly every game, and scored against PAOK, Galatsaray, Hertha Berlin, Athletic Bilbao, AND was MOTM vs Arsenal, where wenger proclaimed him to be a marvellous player, the best on the pitch technically and tactically AND didnt rule out signing him in the summer.
the bonus is totally false, for all intents and purposes ghoddos is a swedish player, playing for iran. The guy was trained and grew up in sweden, and is transferring from swedish league, based off his great performances for a swedish team in european competition. Nothing to do with iranian players from iranian league.
According to Swedish Media, Östersunds FK will get €6m for him.
Which is 3rd largest transfer sum after Zlatan and Alexander Isak.
I am happy for Saman. It's definitely a solid step up in his career and he will get significantly more visibility. He could transfer to a better Ligue 1 team when he is 25 if he performs well and I am confident he will OR he could end up in a better European league.
Go Saman!
im really surprised Amiens had 6 mil. This more than doubles there previous transfer record.
The 6 million euros explains wh he went there and not a better team. The owner of Ostersunds wanted to make more $, hence he let him go to the best buyer!
The agent of Saman Ghoddos has now confirmed that he will be moving to Amiens.
"We had bids from better clubs but this is the best step for Samans career"
This is from twitter. Also Ostersunds will get 17.5-25% of his future transfer fee as well. So if he is sold for around 15 mil EU, which is a pretty reaonsable fee, then ostersunds will have gotten 10 million EU in total for his sale. They have a stadium with capacity smaller than my backyard, sign only free agents, loan players, and random refugees, AND only get random english coaches for cut price fees. so where will all this money go ???? One answer, the criminal who is supposed to me behind bars atm, Kindberg! yay.
Dam you guys are so negative 😂
Here are a few positives about this move:
1) pishraft. At the end of the day, Ostersunds doesnt have much left to offer Saman. Allsvenskan to Ligue 1 is a big step but a reasonable step for him.
2) The fans: looking at the reaction of Huesca and Rennes fans, there were some excited fans but most of them were indifferent. However, Amiens fans resemble Brighton fans in that they have wanted Ghoddos for a long long time and are truly ecstatic to get him!
3) Ghoddos already being assigned #7 as Leicester City stated shows that they have a big role coming up for him at the club. I truly think he can bring this bottom tier team to at least a mid table ligue 1 level!
Best of luck Saman!
Can't say their squad is full of big name talent but in Konate, Saman has a real quality goalscorer to support and strike a partnership with which is promising.
Overall not the most impressive move but a huge step up from Swedish league, and he can show himself and his high technique in he French league, and I’m sure another team will be knocking for him soon.

It's literally not as bad as you all make it sound, they are a team that can hold their ground.
PSG will always win that league, its a big joke
The defense isnt great in ligue 1, which means Saman will score quite a few goals :)
I’m sorry I’m never one to be negative but what a pitiful, sh!t move this is....one of the worst we have had in a long time IMO. We all thought he would be in celta, hertha, crystal palace, etc. and now he has wound up in a small team in the 5th-6th best league in the world while his team mates who he was far superior to are in MUCH better teams and leagues.
May this be a lesson that club loyalty doesn’t mean jack!!! He was deprived of going to celta and was told oh no it’s ok in the summer you can take their offer.....there were crickets these last few months not a single mention of serious interest from them again.
For me the only worse European move was azmoun going back to Rubin....other than that this move takes the trophy.
I hope in a years time I can look back at this post and some way, some how be dead wrong but I can’t see it happening.
Would love to support Saman at new team and buy his jersey once available....but they are just aweful! I'd take a TM design over Amiens' jersey any day =)
Is he in a better league? Yes for sure
Will he shine? I’d bet my $ he will, but it’s not a certainty especially since most of us aren’t familiar with his supporting cast
And the golden question....will he transfer to a better team? Hmmmm.....one would have thought that after he shined the way he has he’d have 8-10 solid offers to chose from but instead, from what we know, he didn’t have many options. Yes kindberg got in the way of things but his greed made it harder for Saman to chose amongst their suitors which has nothing to do with the lack of offers at the end of the day.
So again, him moving to a better team after amiens also isn’t a certainty.
This is a risky move and can go a number of different ways. As a huge Ghoddos fan I will follow every game and root him on but at the moment I don’t like this move one bit until I’m proven that this will have a positive impact on his career and/or get him a better move next summer.
Says Huesca is going for a legal case. He signed a contract with Huesca with an exit clause of 40mil.
As I said before with this whole transfer saga until I see him on the pitch in the clubs colours then we can be certain who he’s playing for.
If this is a short term deal or has out clauses then it's a brilliant move to get exposure and move away from OFK and their bs. Anything otherwise could be career suicide.

I agree it's not as bad as everyone makes it sound. My friend who works as a part time sports journalist in Paris was telling me that Amiens will be a better place for him to shine. Rennes according to him has a bad track record historically of screwing up players with potential and selling those who play OK for profits to the highest bidder (with quite a few players being sold to the gulf leagues).
