lmao. You opened a can of worms with this question mate.
In terms of potential, hands down our forward Sardar Azmoun. He is in a different league of talent to Jahanbakhsh. Way more natural gifts than your new man. He enjoyed a breakout season 2 years ago in Rostov, where he excelled in the Champions League scoring against Bayern Munich in a 3-2 win for rostov (what a night that was), away at Atletico Madrid (first player to score there in something like 30 games at the time, also eventual finalists of that year), Anderlecht, Ajax (rostov destroyed something like 6-2 on aggregate), and good performances vs PSV Einhoven where he notched a couple assists. He led Rostov to an unlikely third, only a couple point behind Bayern, Athletico topped the group, PSV were last. He then followed it up in the europa league with a goal vs Sparta Prague, and a solid performance vs Man Utd Away. After major bids by the likes of Lazio and Leverkusen, Azmoun mistakenly decided to stay with his father like trainer Berdyev in Russia, and a series of mental breakdowns leading to long scoring droughts, failure to live up to hype and pressure from the previous years performances, have really hindered his development. He is still very young at 23, and playing in a very physical and defensive league where his team barely gives him one good ball every other game, but his mentality is still too weak for him to be big time right now.
Saeid Ezatolahi Probably our most talented player along with sardar. A tank of midfielder, with good technique, and excellent defensive skills. Hes 6 ft 4, but quite mobile. Started out in iran, before leaving to Atletico Madrid Academy at 18, played for them in youth champions league for a couple seasons, then moved to Rostov with Azmoun. He was very solid in the champions league for them, especially against anderlecht where he was motm, and good in cameos vs PSV and Bayern. He is probably gonna get a good move this summer after he was one of our top performers in the WC, especially vs Spain where he was MOTM.
Morteza Pouraliganji - Our best defender, and probably the best player in our national team in terms of performances. Played last couple season in Al sadd qatar, made a ton of money, got good coaching from legendary portuguese coach, Jesualdo ferreira, and really improved. Now his contract expired, and he rejected his clubs extension and other offers by qatari clubs. He has the same agent as Jahanbakhsh, and says he is definitely moving to europe this summer. We will see where he ends up.
Milad Mohammadi. Our roadrunner of a left back, only 23, plays for Akhmat in Chechnya, Russia. The best left back in russia. Insane speed, very aggressive defender, very good offensively as well. Another who will be moving this summer as his contract expires in a year and his club want to make a big profit on him. Ton of potential.
Saman Ghoddos Ex Swedish international. Only 24 years old, chose us over sweden before WC. An excellent attacking mid, winger, striker. His dribbling and shooting are fantastic, would rate him actually higher than jahanbakhsh as well. Was motm vs Arsenal for his swedish team Ostersund in Europa League, also scored vs Atletic Bilbao, PAOK, Galatasaray, Hertha Berlin. Arsene wenger called him a marvellous player, the best on the pitch technically and tactically after the first match. In the second he assisted two at the Emirates and Ostersund claimed an unlikely 2-1 win. He will definitely be on the move this summer as well. Bordeaux, Leicester, Southampton, West Ham all rumored to be interested. Nearly moved to Celta Vigo in january.
Alireza Beiranvand
IF you payed attention to WC, his rags to riches story was one of the most interesting. Was homeless after leaving nomadic tribe at age of 14 to pursue football, saved Ronaldo's PK, and was all around fantastic. Got Guardian's highest average rating of 9. something over the 3 games. Supposedly turned down many offers, including Torino, Sassuolo, and Besiktas this summer, to help out his team which currently have a transfer ban, until winter when he will move. His physique is simply amazing for a GK, and his long throws can go the length of the field.
Majid Hosseini 22 year old CB, who was excellent for us in WC. Great on the ball, physical, calm. Close to transfer to Turkey, Trabzonspor (5th place team).
Besides these guys, Ali Gholizadeh who recently moved to belgium is an exciting winger, very technical, only 23. But the ones that take the cake are Younes Delfi and Allahyar Sayyad, both from our u17 team. They were amazing in u17 WC, smashing Germany 4-0 in the process. Delfi is a tall, technical, goal scoring winger who is close to a transfer to PSV. Allahyar just turned 17, and is physically the most developed player I have seen for his age. A really unique forward, tank like. Nearly signed with Galatasaray, but decided to stay in iran for a couple more years to work in a big club with German coach Shaeffer, who seems set on developing him into an even better player, before he is shipped out to europe.
lol jahanbakhsh belakhare raft ye ja kami koskhol shodim
Guys, I hate to ask a sensitive question, but I’m just wondering how the dynamics are gonna work with two Israelis on the team as well?
I know the players are all above this, but will the government give him a hard time? Any backlash?
Can someone translate this please: it's dutch!
They have only two players in EPL and both play for Brighton lol
Dame Jahanbakhsh Garm, a kid with a right attitude and determination. 5 years a go when he left Damash for Dutch NEC for a very little money, some people in Iran actually laughed at him because he had an offer on the table from Persepolis for 4-5 times more money. The kid is a true meaning or professionalism. He is probably the only Iranian player and that is including the older generation as well, who making a top league as a ''difference maker'' for his club, he is not going to warm the bench for such a transfer fee, of course it is all depending to him but knowing the guy, he will just get better.
Hope that wake up someone like Azmoun, another example of simply having talent is not enough, ask Daei, Ask Hashemian and many others.
Finally a legionnaire in a top league, it was about the time.
Could anyone hook it up with the first Jahanbakhsh interview on Seagulls TV? :o
Can’t wait to buy his jersey!
Poor cheshmi. I love that dude and no one is recommending him.
Is anyone down for a PFDC premier league fantasy?
Brighton are owned by a Jewish man, too. But god bless him as if it wasn't for his smart transfer policy, they'd probably have signed Ziyech, Arzani or some other inferior foreigner #LonglivetheJews
Thanks for your input regarding players to watch, especially @inarsenewetrust.
I will have to do some stalking on YouTube later to see some of these players in action.
Someone asked for the full Interview on Segulls TV with ALI. I will see if i can record my screen and post it here. To be honest, for £5 a month (Rolling Subscription, stop when you want) you can watch it yourself and many more BHAFC videos and some of our classic games from our first season in the Prem and get a real feeling what our club is like. the team spirit and the Togetherness.
Thanks for this info, I will definitely look into it as £5 a month sounds very reasonable. By the way, are there any good videos or pieces you recommend that can give a good overview of the current state of your team? I know about gross, Izquierdo and the likes but I'd like to learn more about perhaps the defensive players, their strengths, weaknesses, etc.. maybe like a season review sort of thing if that's available? I already watched "a journey from nowhere" and it was great, really inspiring. thanks again and welcome!
To the people who keep bringing up the Israeli team mate issue:
You either are too young or too unaware of Iranian (political) issues.
For the young ones: there was a day when an Iranian player called Andranik Teymourian was playing in the EPL for a team called Bolton Wanderers. In those days he has 2 Israeli teammates too. No problem whatever.
For people who don't know much about Iran: the Iranian government does not acknowledge Isreal as a state. Hence, it doesn't allow it's athletes compete with people who represent a country that they don't acknowledge (although not explicitly, but you'll get in trouble if you deviate from this unspoken rule. See Shojaei's issue). So there's no problem with working with people from Israel.
Now stop bringing this up as with most cases the people (like you who are making an issue out of it and pointing it out the whole time) are a “kaseye daghtar az ash” than the government and the authorities. Ever heard of things related to sleeping dogs and such?
A good question.
Stars:
Glenn Murray : Anthony Knockaert : Bruno : Pascal Groß : Lewis Dunk
Bruno (RB) is the legend, captain with star quality. Assets: composure on the ball, reading the game, hard to beat, cutting out crosses.
Lewis Dunk (CH) is the central defender and player most likely to be coveted by other Premier League sides, without becoming a regular for a top 6 side
Anthony Knockaert (inverted RW) is a tricky player with an eye for goal, but not blessed with blistering pace
Glenn Murray, an ageing striker who was never blessed with pace, a knack of scoring goals
Shane Duffy: the big centre half who is meant to cut out all the high balls and does quite well at defending
Dale Stephens (midfield) an all around midfielder who plays in a defensive role and is an automatic starter
Formation 4-4-1-1 and close, always four at the back
Style: deep defence, selective pressing
Strong: defending from open play
Weak: defending from set pieces

I never had a truly favourite Premier League club. I know I have one now.
Looking forward to visiting Brighton in the near future.

Need to know his number ... wanna order both shirts ... look sick.
I hope he retire with AZ or NEC when's like 33+ years old.
