nearly 40min in and according to announcer BHA have had just 1 touch so far inside NCastle's box..!! :p
and they nearly conceded the 2nd a while earlier, shoulda been a PK to NC..!

Thats a pretty shortsighted narrative. Having practically watched every brighton game, I can say their problems run deeper than simply not having forward players that are goal machines.
I've said it a couple of times before but i'll say it again. There's three core issues with Brighton.
1) An antiquated central midfield.
Brighton managed to pull themselves up and stay up with an anchored 4-4-1-1 that still relied almost entirely on set pieces. The story didn't change last season and it sure as hell didn't this season, and the reason is because the central midfield (especially Stephens and Propper) are of poor fitness, speed, and vision. They are used to a system that allows them to sit in the deep pocket in front of the back four, and when either of them take even a slight risk to step forward they cannot close the gaps, they are not comfortable in possession, cannot do quick one-touch passes, and cannot dribble. Their only real strength comes from hoofing useless outlet passes to the wings and then leaving them for dead. The only time Brighton can have any semblance of possession or impact on a game is against sides with even worse technique and fitness (aka Milwall, Huddersfield, Burnley). In these games, Stephens and Propper are hardly put under any pressure and so they're able to at least step into the oppositions half. But, in 99% of matchups, Brighton's only forward movements rely on a maximum of 3 players: A winger, lone striker, and either the opposite winger or the CAM (if they even bother venturing forward). There is no other team in the league that is as conservative as Brighton in the middle of the park, and time and time again no matter who is in rotation on the wings it makes 0 difference because the central midfield always stays the same.
2) Poor team culture
I mentioned this in another post but the players are very nasty towards one another. Every errant dribble is punished by another teammate with complaints. Players are so self conscious about the mistakes they make that they would rather just play a back pass than to even attempt good linkup play or take a gamble at a dribble. To add to it, Hughton is incessantly trying or organize the defensive positioning of his forwards.
3) Lack of team identity
This is something that many teams struggle with. Man U has had a big problem with this all season and it's one of the many criticisms thrown at them. Brighton particularly has struggled with this. The team has attempted a change in formation many times but none of it has seemed to click. The team rotation is bizarre at times and there's no semblance of any team 'style' that is recognizable. Many mid and top table teams at least have a sort of recognizability about their play that you can pick up, and having this is critical to the culture of a football club and the ability to become more of an established side.
Seems like CH has lost the locker room. The team looks extremely disjointed.
Delusional if you think this is ARJ fault. Guy is an idiot for joining this garbage team tho
This is the worst PL performance I have ever seen. Brighton are absolutely horrible.
They are sitting back defending as if they are playing away from home with 10 men while being 1-0 up...
Pathetic.
If Bong deserves to be in the Premier League......
Nosrati deserved to play on Chelsea
There is no way you go from top scorer of your league to a loser who can’t score.
I take back anything negative I said about ARJ. BHA is absolute trash. I guess the glamour of playing in the PL overshadows the fact of joining a team that sucks.
^ Hell even if he had gone to leicester with all the extra pressure we discussed last summer - he'd have had a better season than here with this ultra defensive shit.
This really...!
CH gotta go regardless of them staying up, for BHA and Ali to have any chance of redeeming themselves..!!
lol ps
March on for Andone start of 2nd half..!! whatta fking joke ..... he takes out the One player who was lively and playing with passion ..!!
he may be a classy guy or like and get along with ARJ .... or what not .... but Hughton gotta go for either to have a chance of progress..!! he has clearly lost the plot and respect of his players and their performances in the last 4-6 months or so is very much indicative of that..!!
When your center backs are your biggest scoring threat, you know your team has offensive woes.
1 to 1 now
GOALLLl Brighton!!!!!
1-1 pascal gross equalize and that could well save their EPL status.
tbf theyve been playing much better and finally with some intend in the last 15 min or so
Lmao Ali Daei > Glenn Murray
NBC crew bashing CH “idk why the heck they wait until the 2nd half to play like this” lol I have said it all along this team has quality players unfortunately CH just doesn’t know how to use them
1-1 FT
good 2nd half performance finally see BHA score a goal after some 7 games.?
that may well become their saving grace in EPL..!! Brighton fans and players celebrating as if theyve won the league..!! :D
both March and Knocky put in great performances coming off the bench today so its looking quiet dreadful situation for ARJ going forward..!!
second half was the best I have seen BHA play. Of course the first half was dreadful as usual. I blame ARJ for the first half!!
BHA has virtually secured their safety in the PL since they have a superior GD. Cardiff City must win their next two matches (vs Crystal Palace, and @ Man U) at a minimum for BHA to be in relegation danger.
Another underserved point.
Hopefully next season our boy JB gets more starts in team tactic that allows going forward.
It appears BHA will stay in the PL. This is good for ARJ if he returns. I hope he gets loaned to a Bundesliga team and preforms well.
Anyone have any idea was Jahanbakhsh was left out of the squad? They brought with them a unfit Izquierdo instead (who is due for an operation in summer)? I don't understand these decisions.
No idea. I’m going to guess a few things;
1) as ARJ was subbed off vs Spurs he said something to CH which he took issue to so this was his punishment
2) Something happened during the week with ARJ and CH and this was his punishment
3) He has given ARJ enough chances and decided he doesn’t fancy him
4) left him out to show that no one is ‘undroppable’
5) he has handed in a transfer request or told CH about his desire to leave
These are all guesses of course.
A rather typical (bad and good) BHA performance under CH, including the lack lustre first half and belated second half bombardment. Attacking ideas in the second half were better than the Spurs attempts against BHA (endless wild shots from outside the box).
BHA goal: Stephens - Bruno - Murray - Pascal Groß (old heads)
Next weekend will probably see Cardiff defeat Palace (on Saturday) and BHA losing at Arsenal (on Sunday).
Man City haven't beaten Burnley yet, but I can't see them losing their title at the Amex. I could see Cardiff holding Man United to a draw at Old Trafford until last five minutes; than anything could happen.
Hazardous
I think Chelsea will make fourth place even if they lose at Old Trafford. However, there would still be chance that Chelsea will lose at Leicester, so Man United will have an incentive to win. If Chelsea get something at Old Trafford all bets for Man U are off.
Man City escape their banana skin 0-1 win at Burnley. Arsenal have blown CL.
I don't like BHA, but we have also to remember how JB was disappearing against big teams (Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord, Lyon..) when played at AZ.
^thats like 2 outa some like 2dozen features or so..!!??
PSG is right .... he choked or no-showed quiet frequently when his teams would face stiff competitions in league leaders or in Cup finales..!!
and lets not forget that he kinda/sorta flukishly amassed like 3?4? goals in one game vs some tokhmy opponent very late in his last season in order to eclipse and narrowly win the golden boot ...!!
he sure was overall an standout performer in his Eredivisie but he wasnt all that and a bag of chips either that some like to make of him..! even if he went to a more attacking and formidable team in EPL, this was a Huge step up in competition level that he had faced so far in his career and he woulda been unlikely to score any more than a handful of goals in his first season in EPL..!!
he looks very likely to vastly improve on his offensive stats (i mean FFS he is sitting @zilch, there is only one way to go ..!:p) next season if BHA remain in EPL, yet still i highly doubt he has it in him to come anywhere near double digits in goals or assists in EPL..!! He aint that caliber of a player...!! simple as .!
How sweet would it be if Jahanbakhsh scored his first goal in the last game of the season against ManCity, helping Liverpool win the title?
Proud to say that the biggest flop in brighton history is an iranian. We just keep accomplishing new feats every yr boys
UK is a toxic place for our players. JB should be in a mid table Bundesliga team or La Liga. Even France and Seria A would fit him better than Brighton Gooz & Altokhm.
