It’s an all-Premier League affair for Brighton & Hove Albion as they begin their FA Cup campaign with a trip to Bournemouth in the third round of the competition.

Michael Oliver will ref cup tie at Bournemouth. Craig Pawson is the VAR, assisted by Sian Massey-Ellis.

The FA Cup - Third Round

Bournemouth 1 Brighton & Hove Albion 3

First thoughts:
1) Both managers made 8 changes and left out top players.
2) Stream and radio. Missed some of the first half by stream.
3) Knockeart MOM (in patches), Bissouma (in patches), Locadia (in patches) looked good.
4) Bruno and Bong looked very good at the back, sound, very hard to beat, composed, and Bong put in two excellent crosses.
5) Jason Steele warmed to making saves (made to look easy) near the end. I always thought he was a good shot stopper.
6) Balogun still a bit error prone.
7) Brighton best for two-thirds of the game and good for the win.
8) Florin Andone looks to have a Murray-like knack for scoring goals.

Don't despair if you can't. It was an error strewn highlights. Brighton looked more comfortable as the game went on. Steele after having nothing to do was called on to make two late saves. That seemed to increase his confidence and made conceding less likely!

Pugh's goal for Bournemouth was the best of the four.

CH has a selection headache for the next game vs Liverpool.

After Mathew Ryan's opening Asian Cup disappointment it's the turn today of Ali J and Iran. Their opening group game is against Yemen in Abu Dhabi (4pm UK time). #bhafc

Ali J is fit following his hamstring trouble but will not be involved. Saved instead for the other group games, the last against Iraq. #bhafc

He’s been training with the team, likely just being safe because the first game or two aren’t going to be too difficult. Will most certainly feature in knockout phase games, you should watch those!

FA CUP 4th round draw:

Brighton and Hove Albion vs West Bromwich Albion.

Hopefully Burton Albion can join in for a three-way ("with some honey in the middle there's some leeway")

Hove is a town in Sussex, one of the "home counties" of the United Kingdom. The reason why they are called home counties is that King Jarvis V had a home in each county. But he never lived in them.

Good draw for Brighton, most likely Alireza will play in the Round of 16 tie (assuming they beat WBA)

Honestly, with Torabi playing well and Ghoddos, Amiri and Ansarifard all quality choices, its not a foregone conclusion Jahanbakhsh starts a game in this tournament. Taremi has the other side locked down. He's not going anywhere.

I would say it sort of depends on the decided play style and opposition of the match. As an out and out wide player AJ is much better at providing good delivery to the box, plus he is very clinical with his passing in the final third. Taremi is much stronger and is a bigger threat in the box, plus he has intelligent positioning. Really depends on which qualities will be more useful on the day.
