The reason the delay times have increased so much for domestic flights is 90% due to technical reasons. After those terrible crashes couple of years ago, a decision was made to make technical checks much more stringent and becoming more lenient with delays in order to allow that criteria to be met...and since the planes are more older, there will be even more problems.

Sadly the concept of "preventative maintenance" doesn't really set over there. Not saying that the planes aren't maintained, but the mentality of "don't fix it until broken" is still present there. They simply don't have the resources and capabilities to run the airlines the same way as they do in Europe and US. On top of that counting the limited number of air frames available to them. It is actually extremely sad to see that the team doesn't have a dedicated plane just for traveling.Quote:
