The spokesperson for the Ministry of Sport posted something on his Instagram saying he hopes CQ stays («خدا كند آقای كروش بماند. حیف است به خدا.»).
Also, as more details emerge of those final discussions, the full extent of the estinkiness of the situation is coming to light: Apparently, CQ did not want to accompany the team to Austria and was threatening to complain to FIFA, saying there is a provision for his contract that he would be owed the full amount of his contract.
[I'm guessing that's in case they fired him which begs the question, why were there all these negotiations at the beginning to include an provision in his contract for a performance evaluation after the Asian Cup whereby both parties could terminate the contract without any penalties].
At any rate, that's when Kaffashian allegedly turned the issue into a resignation so that there CQ would not be able to complain to FIFA.
[But with all the exit issues now, it looks like CQ may have a very strong case saying he felt like a hostage and he submitted his resignation under duress. If that provision exists in the contract whereby he would be owed the entire amount of the contract in case he was fired, IFF could potentially be liable for damages in excess of $6 million. And if that's the case, we can pretty much kiss goodbye to any level of success from any team managed by the IFF for the next few years - that includes our Beach soccer, Futsal, U teams, TM, etc.) - a real shit show to start the new year ]
There's no way in hell CQ will stay after this latest fiasco. Screw IR and anyone who supports them.
So I don't get it, will CQ be our coach for the Chile and Sweden games or not?
Some people here blaming Queiroz leaving on 1979 revolution and Khomeini, LOL.
I absolutely hate Kafashian and his annoying laughter, but you have to be reasonable, the same Kafashian that told CQ to leave brought him in the first place!
TM has arrived in Vienna Austria.

Marker as the head coach?
Not going to happen. And for good reasons too. He has never coached anything. He was hardly on any significant position under CQ when it came to actual coaching and decisions
exactly how CQ like it. Docile and meek, with little guts to make demands. I'm not saying he isn't intelligent or anything. But I seriously doubt he was given much credence or any ears when it came to actual coaching matters. That's why he survived under CQ. We know what happens of you actually show some back bone.
As for the rest of the staff, I doubt they'd remain. Perhaps the physical trainer will be offered a contract, who did a great job of physically prep'ing the team. But the rest? I doubt it.
Is that a full strenght swedish squad? I don't see Elmander, Kallstrom for example.
