    Carlos Carvalhal...

Announces today he wants to leave Braga: https://www.ojogo.pt/futebol/1a-liga...-14707407.html

Has been interested in Iranian football for a while

Has a really close relationship to his players

Plays one of the most innovative (but also very nice to watch) brands of football I've seen which I think can unlock the talents of TM - whilst also having the classic Portuguese defensive stength

Brought Taremi to Portugal, and appraised him in a way few other coaches have (CQ and Daei aside) - I just loved his interviews about Taremi

Friends with Carlos Queiroz and, links throughout Liga do Portugal

    Someone tell IFF...

"Rio Ave coach Carlos Carvalhal said earlier in the season: “with all due respect to Rio Ave and Portuguese football, Taremi is too good for this league and will soon be on a bigger stage.” "

I like this guy, would be great to have him as TM coach... - he is honest, his teams play good football, he has good relationships with his players. He wouldn't break the bank

“Taremi is a striker from the national team of Iran,” Carvalhal said. “I know him very well because the national team coach was Portuguese, Carlos Queiroz, so I followed Iran often.

“I liked the player and I think he’s an extra player. He played a long time in Iran and last season he moved to Qatar.

“I was in Qatar last year for one week and I saw the player again and I remained excited about him.

“But I never expected to bring him to Rio Ave’s because of the difference between the money Rio Ave can pay to the money he can receive in Qatar was big.

“But I convinced him. He’s all about the personality. He doesn’t care about money. He wants to show his abilities in Europe. It’s a challenge to him.

“Never a player like that would be in Rio Ave [for long], so it’s normal now I believe Sporting, Benfica and Porto are looking at him.

“I don’t believe. I am sure because they are asking for information about him. And I also believe that English teams are looking at him.

“He’s a good striker. He’s a fast player. Good header. He plays very well to connect the game.

“He’s a player that receives very well the ball behind the defences because he has good timing to receive the ball. And he scores a lot of goals. He’s a quality player.”

I think he would, it's almost perfect timing that he announces he wants to leave Braga now...

He's a good coach, he's respected in the premier league and the portuguese leage, he's a nice guy, he already knows about iranian football. And he wouldn't be too expensive compared to others (looking at his salary)

All it needs is for someone to whisper to Iran's football hierarchy.

Perhaps Gol Bezan or someone could do an interview with him...

Considering it would be an 8th month contract it would literally be paid in 2 installments. One upon signing, one upon wc completion (maybe to assess/include bonuses based on performance). He is not signing a multi year deal

Would be a dream appointment. But this is the IFF we are talking about …
"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

If he is willing to sign a 8 month contract I am all for it. Should be a huge improvement over Skocic.

Yeah, one big game and Skocic cracked into egg yolk. We seriously need to consider this guy for the WC. I don't think Skocic is the answer to team mellis problem. We need to consider bigger and better foreign coaches than Skocic if we want to get to the second round of the world cup and make an impact on the international stage!

Would be a dream come true and worthy of a PFDC shambool sacrifice
                          Team Meli Iran
                          Perspolis FC

Lmao poor Dragan.. His first ever loss with Team Melli and we're thinking of calling up the local paella chef from Lisbon to become the next team melli manager.

All jokes aside Carvalhal is a great manager, but guys we should be realistic... There is no right conscious behind firing Skocic after one loss. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it), results are what matters for football managers.

A manager could have f*ck all tactics and still get away with it as long as he helps his team produce results. Will we struggle at the World Cup with Skocic? There's a good chance... But there's also a good chance that our great players like Taremi, Azmoun etc play great football and lead us to victories. The World Cup requires heavy preparations, great team chemistry and football abilities, but also luck! Lots and lots of luck...

Maybe we will be lucky. Let's try keeping faith...
