    Iranian Team vs Asian Team

Is it me or all Iranian coaches at all level. League level (Persepolis/Esteghlal), U-20 National Team, when they play Asian League or other nations, they fail year after year. I mean, I am losing hope in all Iranian coaches. It's very sad to see this happening year after year.

Esteghlal clearly is out after losing 3-0 in UAE and will not qualify for Asian CL quarter finals.
Persepolis has pretty low chances in qualifying to quarter finals in Asian CL.
Esteghlal Khuzestan will have 0% in qualifying to next round of Asian CL.
Iran U-20 lost two match in World Cup, when they were leading in both matches.

We really need these coaches to get world experience. Let me know your thought on this

Iranian coaches ONLY become coaches because of IFF ( Iranian Football Frak ups) In Iran today its the norm , if an AKhund or Sepah can become leader , president or head of a ministry then any " naneh Qambar" can become coach of a club that has the same supporters as Real Madrid!!! Its the usual deymi mentality!! Rest of the world is different! Take Hashemian for example, in order for him to become coach he had to get all his licenses and still he started a league 5 German club!!!!! Mansourians claim to fame: Played in WC, Playd with St. Pauli, took a license and Voila: hes head coach of a Premier League team!!!! If I was the head of Naft, I would start Masourian at their youth academy then work him up after a few years..... But its Akhund republic and anything goes... Just ask Rahbar! ....

      Iranian Team vs Asian Team

Our teams are tactically and financially too weak to beat Arab teams in ACL. Simple.

And they have much better foreign players than us, our foreign stars are rather laughable. How many of IPL foreign stars played in EPL, La Liga or Bundesliga?

Most of these Arab teams have players with a top 3 league resume and they build the team basically around them.

not sure if this is relevant, but Perspolis doesn't have an Iranian coach.
I think it's more than just coaching, but I do get what you are saying. We don't have any Iranian coach that can perform at an International stage, .

Coaching can only help so much if the fundamentals aren't right.
Its not just coaching, the players, the fields, even the most basic of positions in the club administrations are messed up and this means 0 consistency. We'll have great results here and there but for our football to truly achieve consistent good results we need our football overhauled like volleyball was 15 years ago.

We don't have the coaches , foreign players , facilities, youth level programs and competent managers that Arab, Koreans, Chineses etc have.. As long as money isn't properly spent on what our teams need the most , we shouldn't expect any success in ACL or youth competitions.

It's just you. Firouz Karimi won the Champions League with PAS in 1992.

Don't forget that it is not just the coaching. We have quality issue among our players. In Iran they keep saying we have talent but most those talents don't grow beyond the corrupt system and mentality that has surrounded our football. You saw in the Esteghlal game today, our players even at a top league club level can't even pass the ball properly.. and that is because they have not learned the basics of the game. It is like trying to practice medicine without being to medical school.

And iran won the Asian championship 3 times before. Biut those were the days that the game was played at much lower sophistication level than today. Football is a science now and unfortunately we went backward.. . We are at least 30 years behind most top rated Asian teams.

Yes, back in 1992 when the only country in all of Asia was a real country happened to be Japan and maybe China! Even the J league didnt start until a few years later!! the Persian Gulf countries were still chasing camels and trying to be civilized! ,

Its not like a computer game, where the coaches hold a joystick in their hands during the game.
I am not defending the coaches, but I don't put all the blame on their shoulders.

Do we have a proper youth leagues? UAE, Qatar, Oman etc are way (astronomically) ahead of us.
Do we have proper training facilities for both senior and junior teams?
Do we have $$$ that are being spent on club programs?

Without the above factors, senior club teams CANNOT perform on the continent, no matter whether Jose Murinho or your local grocery store owner is coaching the team.

the big problem, is that, the persian gulf and even china, japan, korea can bring good foriegn players ,while we cant, also our league is weak, and our iranian coaches are not good, this is a fact , they are not good, is painful to accept but is the truth.our coaches have no tactic, and just play random football, look how bad ss played al-ain. it was horrible.U-20 played like a joke also

the problem is obviously multi-faceted and its not just one or two things but in general is due to general lack of adequate fund$ in order to keep up with the tactical advancements of the Modern game of Football..!
our domestic football across all age groups from grass roots all the way up to most of PGL is still played in an unorganized, unsophisticated, old school way..!
our domestic coaching is by en large the same, because of lack appropriate exposure to modern coaching studies and methods, many of our domestic coaches proceed to coach the way they've learned the game while playing..! few take time to expand their horizons to more modern ways of playing football and to attain legit coaching licenses ..! so the vicious cycle seem to continue..!

we often get by to a certain level in such continental tourneys mostly due to abundance of individual talents and occasional moments of individual efforts from them, but eventually we fall short when we face a similarly talented opponent who instead plays the game in a more tactically organized and methodic way, under professional guidance of well educated coach.

in short we produce plenty of individual talents but most end up going to waste and eventual stagnation in their playing development because of remaining in our played-out, poisonous domestic football environment ..! The few that excel in long term are most often those who get out early to Europe and nurture their natural talents the right way..!

we need investment of money and lots of it to have a true nation-wide football revolution and catch up with the modern game of football as other countries in the continent seem to be doing..!! but our Federation is rife with corruption and political interference and their budget is an afterthought as far as establishment is concerned..!
