Not all legionnaires are called up, and no Perspolis, Esteghlal or Esteghlal Khuzestan players either due to the ACL.

            Alternative is no friendlies

Montenegro is a strong enough team, and I'd rather the boys be out of Iran playing a decently competitive game rather than staying in Iran waiting for Uzbeks to show up.

You say that in a way that their team hasn't changed since the last time we played them 3 years ago.

                  You mistook montenegro with macedonia.
Montenegro is currently 2nd of their wcq group behind poland and in front denmark

so all our clubs are still in stupidass ACL..? humm...figured they'd been brushed aside by now.
no wonder the call up list is filled with some unknown to me players and our GK line-up seemed sorta wack, still glad CQ didnt call up that wanker sosha-soosool to that mix

I wonder what happened with shojaeian that suddenly he can't get a call up. Seemed like CQ liked him a lot and even explicitly mentioned him in a few interviews when touching on new players he's bringing in for the future.

Lak used to be the most promising keeper in Iran years ago and then completely lost form....of I'm not mistaken he had a decent year this past season right?

I personally like the fact that new players will get a chance I hope Karimi and ansari get their first caps. It'll be a decent test for this group.
                      Team Meli Iran
                      Perspolis FC
                      Malavan Bandar Anzali

Shojaeian wasn't as good as in the 2015-16 season, he gave 6 assists though.
He will leave Gostaresh in summer. (Esteghlal is rumored to be his next destination)

It was one of the best seasons of his career IMO
But also it's hard to know what's going on in CQ's mind 😁
