Around 100,000 Iranians packed their national stadium on Tuesday to watch their country beat China 1-0 in a crucial World Cup qualifier.
Mehdi Taremi scored the only goal of the game early in the second half as Iran took another step closer to booking their place in Russia next summer.
Iran are top of their Asian group with a four point lead over South Korea, while China’s hopes of reaching the World Cup are over as they’ve only achieved five points in seven games.
The fall-guy for China in the Iran defeat was defender Jiang Zhipeng, who bizarrely headed the ball into Taremi’s path for the only goal of the game.
But that was just the start of Zhipeng’s terrible Tuesday.
Wife reveals he’s a cheater
Following the Iran game, Jiang Zhipeng’s wife took to social media to reveal to the world that her husband is a cheater.
Zhang Zhiyue announced that she was filing for divorce against her husband after she discovered he had been having a three-and-a-half year affair with a woman called Xiao Bing.
Jiang Zhipeng and Zhang Zhiyue have been married for four years.
Zhang Zhiyue posted the following messages on her Weibo account:
I supported him when he was still a poor lad and my mum treated him like her own son, my family even chipped in with 1 million RMB to cover the down payment for his house in Shanghai.
We didn’t have a wedding ceremony and our relationship was never made public.
In nearly three-and-a-half years out of four-year marriage, he was sleeping with other women and now he is trying to drive me to an early grave despite our decades-long relationship.
She also posted the following pictures of Jiang Zhipeng with his mistress.
According to news out of China, Jiang Zhipeng, who plays his club football for Guangzhou R & F Football Club, could be kicked out of the national team as a result of this incident.
