Alexander Nouri @ Werder Bremen 16/17 [coach]

    http://www.transfermarkt.de/werder-b...ew/news/250449

Nouri is going to be the coach of Werder Bremen's first team.
He only had experience at Bremen U23 and Vfb Oldenburg.
His father is iranian and his mother german and on wikipedia it says that he played for Iran U17,20,23.(Don't think it's true)

Here is a interview with him from 2008

Most high profile Iranian appointment in European football (if not the first).

Hope he can do well. Funnily enough I watched a Werder match for the first time yesterday. One word.

i hope he can collect some three points and make werder bosses think about him as coach. they search for a coach now, but everything is possible, if nouri can collect 6 or 9 points in the next two/three games. hope he gets enough time, btw it is english week, they play in the week and weekend, if he collect the 6 points, he will win time for weirder bosses but also for himself. hope he can do it. and i hope one day probably he will work in iran.

And on the 8.Day God created Ali Karimi, and he saw he was good!

Good for him. It's a shame that former players like Daei, Azizi, Hashemian who all went into coaching, haven't been able to use their European/American networks to find jobs outside of Iran.
We thank and support Mr.Kamran Delan for many years of dedication and service to Iranian Football Community.

Wow… How great would that be if he could recruit fellow German-Iranian Ashkan Dejagah with him to Bremen? This is one of the most under the radar moves for us Iranians this summer/fall

Alexander Nouri, the new head coach of Werder Bremen

This is quite an achievement for an Iranian, only 37! Played with TM up to age of 23 in early 2000, he wasn't that good as player as he played most of his career with Bremen second team. He coached Bremen reserve team in last 2 years.

I guess he played for Iran u-23, i remember him pretty well, he wasn't that special as player, but huge achievement for an Iranian.

I remember about 11 years ago we were debating if Branko would invite him to TM, most of us wished for such invitation.

This is an amazing news. Hope to see him succeed with Werver Bremen.

Poor guy must handle soorakh Bremen. Best luck to him.
IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.
