    AZADEGAN LEAGUE 2016/17

    Use this thread to post news about the new season. Sepidrood Rasht and Oxin Alborz have been promoted from the 2nd Division. Malavan, Rah Ahan, and Esteghlal Ahvaz have been relegated to Azadegan League. This could be the best season yet, last season (2015/16) was a great success and the standard of play, refereeing and facilities greatly improved.

      Changes in format for the 2016/17 season:

      -16th and 15th team of PGPL will be relegated

      -1st and 2nd place team of Azadegan League will be promoted

      -18th, 17th, 16th team of Azadegan will be relegated

      -2nd Division (Third tier) will be reduced to 36 teams from 40 and will be split into 3 groups, 4 best teams from each group will move onto round 2 which will involve 2 groups of 6 teams, best team from each group will promote to Azadegan League and 2nd place teams will have a play off

          Yes Giti Pasand was relegated. In total 5 teams were relegated from Azadegan League.

            Pars Jam won the first leg of promotion play off 2-0 against Naft Gachasaran. 4,000 were in attendance.
