Amir Arsalan Motahari left Naft Tehran because he couldn't live in Tehran!

Absolutely ridiculous. Incredible that this team is in 5th place. Summary in English:

-Motahari has been absent from training for nearly a month

-He has returned to his hometown of Garmsar, Semnan

-He didn't have a house in Tehran and couldn't cover the expensive financial costs of Tehran by himself

-Technical staff have been in touch with him and have requested for him to return to training

-When you have no money he cannot return, he has missed the last few matches and we are worried about him

Sad stated of business and managers in Iran. Many of these managers pocket the money and have several jobs whereas players do not get paid on time. One player is not enough, all the team should walk out.

This is why I say a league with an actual salary cap which is followed is key.
IRIB also needs to start paying clubs for TV rights.
Finally, any team which shows a negative balance needs to face some sort of punishment.

look SS just paid something like $200 k to a former player because of FIFA case against them. so a salary cap that will keep the teams in check is necessary in iran. most teams will get a way with this type of stuff but the lower teams will get shafted because they can't pay players. Our league is financially broke, we are just living pay check to pay check. PP and SS always get the money first before any other team. that is just a sad reality.

The saddest part about this is that if Motahari receives an offer from Qatar, people on this forum will be bashing him for leaving Iran. Poor guy can't afford rent. Pathetic league.

He is not just any player. He is a TM Omid player with massive amount of potential. They are messing with his future and it is just unacceptable. If the A**HOLES in charge privatize the league, many issues will automatically be solved.

That's sad...but one more reason to play in Europe, at least they pay you salary.

Exactly, even a team in the Swedish or Danish league they would pay him decently and he could play good football there too. He should try to get out of Iran ASAP he's a talented player.

He should leave for Europe if a decent offer is on the table.
