Reza Ghoochannejhad (GUCCI) @ Charlton Athletics 2015/2016

Might as well start a New thread for Reza, as it seems he has already cemented his 1st team position in the upcoming season for Charlton Athletic in English Championship..!

    http://www.cafc.co.uk/news/article/c...s-2591088.aspx
Apparently he has been working hard in training so far and seems highly motivated to make his second stint at the club more impactful and memorable than last time around.
his lone goal for the club was a sexy curler and a vital 3point getter in their relegation battle a year or more ago..!!

lets hope for many more goals this season for our WC hero, as he attempts to resurrect his football career after a year of wa$ting away in obscurities of crappy arab leagues..!
he still has a long way to go in order to establish himself as a regular starter in CAFC, but he certainly has Some superior qualities to most of the 5 other strikers in the current squad all vying for the 2 starting spots..!!
he is one of Six strikers..! (Makienok, Vetokele, Watt, Reza, Pigott, Ahearne-Grant)...!
probably 4th choice ..? but with Vetokele still unfit for a while longer, he may be fighting the last two mentioned above for 3rd pick..!!?
i'd say that without any doubt, he is the Best Finisher/Poacher of the lot..! he is a more internationally experienced striker with a WC to his credit and CAFC's Only WC scorer ..! the sole 2footed striker of that group, with equally sound finishing touches with both feet..!
from very little that iv seen so far, Tony Watt is the only other striker that i rate in that group, but he is a horrible finisher..! the currently injured Vetokele is their top scorer from last season and apparently another good striker?? the big boy Makienok, is a whole different sort of a striker, more like a target man for aerial assaults..!! Pigott is unproven at that level and not highly rated. Ahearne-Grant is from the their academy, young and promising but unproven and inexperienced ..!

it still remain to be seen if Reza with his diminutive stature can cope with physicality of the Championship football..?? but then again he proved at WC that if motivated he can handle physical play fine and dish out some of his own hacking and ankle-biting too..!!
he certainly seem to have a far superior supporting cast this time around him and plenty of big, bruising teammates to protect him against the defensive bullies of the league..!!

COME ON REZA, Make us Proud..!

Hopefully he can fight for his position, make us proud Reza glad to see you back in Europe. We will be supporting you fully

I genuinely believe that he didn't have any decent offers from the Persian Gulf teams except for maybe in Iran because he had said time and time again that he loved it in Qatar and wanted to continue there. So happy he's back in London, hopefully he will get a chance to prove himself
چو ایران نباشد تن من مباد
We thank and support Mr.Kamran Delan for many years of dedication and service to Iranian Football Community.

i agree..! and you know youve hit bottom in your career when you cant even attract a decent offer from an ayrab team..!!

i think CAFC also woulda preferred him to find another loaner club, but since he failed to find a suitor, he was forced back to charlton..! so either he is on high wages at Charlton, or CAFC demanded some sort of a transfer fee in addition to paying his wages, or both..! thats probably another reason why he couldnt find another rich arab team to pick him..!!

anyways, i dont feel sorry for him, he made his bed (when he darted to KU8 after WC) and now he's gotta lay in it...! He has to now train hard and try to impress like a player on Trial, in order to get first team minutes at CAFC and he is super lucky Charlton's main striker is currently injured creating a big demand at the club for his services, at least for time being..!!
for all we know, he may still be offloaded before this Sat. kickoff or by Winter transfer window..!!

one thing for sure, he has to forget the past, always keep a positive attitude and train hard and when given a chance take full advantage of it..!! that is the only way forward for him in order to rebuild his EU football career..!!
if he can bang in a few goals this season and muster up some significant minutes in championship, then he can extend his EU career for another 2-3 seasons..! if he fails, then its only arab and iran clubs at significantly lower pay..!!

                  Charlton vs Chelmsford
                  friendly tonight
its mostly gonna be for academy players and some of the 1st team players (probably some of the recent new signees) who are not likely to be starters this Sat. in the season opener vs QPR..!!
good chance of Reza getting a start up-top along with Piggot ...?

its a kiri opponent, so he has to score 1-2 if likely given chance to play CF..!!!

CAFC XI: Mitov; Staunton, Holmes-Dennis, Sarr, Lennon; Kennedy, Muldoon, Jackson, Bergdich; Ahearne-Grant, Ghoochannejhad. #cafc #CAFCLive

                        Reza starting tonight's Last friendly

no tv off course, and probably nor radio..!! but live commentaries on charlton forums and cafc social media outlets..!!

(Reza vs Ahearne-Grant) on the frontline..!! this could well decide the 3rd choice Striker position for early season in absence injured Vetokele..!!
Mitov 3rd choice keeper, Holmes-Dennis i think RB, academy player about to break through, Sarr, highly rated CB, new signee, Lennon? academy LB..?? Kennedy MF promising academy player, Muldoon MF? Academy, Jackson, longtime CAFC Captain, now too old to start for first team MF, Bergdich, new signee, highly rated LWinger..??

22' Lovely link-up play between Bergdich and Reza in the middle, but the final ball through to Ahearne-Grant is too long. #cafc #CAFCLive
