Your Starting Line-Up for Iran vs. Iraq and Iran vs. Bahrain

With Montazeri gone, and TM a bit shaken up at the back, what do you predict will be the starting line-up heading into the AC?

    My prediction is:

    ------------Haghighi---------------
    Heydari-Hosseini-Sadeghi-Pooladi
    -----Nekounam-Teymourian------
    Jahanbakhsh--Dejagah----Hajsafi
    ----------Ghoochannejhad--------

    Haghighi
    Ghafouri-Sadeghi-Hosseini-Pooladi
    Dejagah-Neko-Ando-Jahanbakhsh
    Ghoochannejhad-Azmoun

    or

    Haghighi
    Ghafouri-Sadeghi-Hosseini-Pooladi
    Ando-Neko-Hajsafi
    Dejagah-Ghoochannejhad-Jahanbakhsh

^not that bad but the first line up suggests Ashkan playing right wing and Jahanbakhsh left, which should be switched since they played and delivered most of the times like that for their clubs.
IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

I wish I could jam soroush rafie somewhere in there too. I'm very hopeful that he can help us

I think it would be interesting if members can suggest who they would substitute and with what player as well

              Ghafoori Hosseini Sadeghi Pooladi

              Dejagah Jahanbakhsh Hajsafi
              Ghoochannejhad

I would like to see Jahanbakhsh as an attacking midfielder, I believe his speed and technique is good enough

                ------------Haghighi---------------
                Ghafouri-Hosseini-Sadeghi-Pooladi(Haj Safi)
                -----Nekounam-Teymourian------
                Jahanbakhsh--Shojaei----Dejagah
                ----------Ghoochannejhad--------

Shojaei will probably start but I prefer Rafiei in that spot. He will be our supersub if Shojaei doesn't perform. Hopefully CQ uses him well. Azmoun can come on for Ghoochannejhad depending on the game and subs left. We may have to play him and Azmoun together if it's past 70min and the teams in our groups are grassrolling/parking the bus for a draw. Something like this:

                ------------Haghighi---------------
                Ghafouri-Hosseini-Sadeghi-Pooladi(Haj Safi)
                ---------Nekounam--Rafiei----------
                Jahanbakhsh--------------Dejagah
                ----------Gucci---Azmoun----------

With Azmoun slightly behind and being there to get in for the crosses.

Haj Safi may start ahead of Pouladi until he adjusts to TM again since he's been away from a while. He might make a return to the starting 11 vs. Qatar if not vs. Bahrain.

IMHO this is the best line-up for the 1st game and also the most likely knowing CQ - you just have Sadeghi and Hosseini reversed.

Unless Heydari is still dealing with that minor injury, I'm pretty sure CQ will opt for his experience and familiarity with CQ's system and other players in the line-up. Also knowing CQ, we may see Shojaei start the 1st game instead of JB, although JB will definitely be called up in the 2nd half, if that's the case.

I suspect we will also see Rafei come in for Ashkan in the 70th minute or so. Azmoun would also be a potential late-game replacement for Gucci. I really can't see CQ switching two two strikers even if we're behind.

What do you guys think? I personally believe Shojaei is very effective playing in an attacking midfielder position, it gives him more opportunity to use his creativity.
We are currently witnessing a revolution in Iranian football. Team Melli has never been stronger than it is today, and we will only get better.

I personally think Shojaei is most effective off the pitch, sitting at home... watching matches on his TV.
