We scored our only goal on a throw in by one o oir defenders
We are playing like crap against mighty Madagascar
Wow! TM and CQ waisted a great chance to get back in good terms with the fans, playing in Azadi after such a long time. This is only going to get tougher for CQ and TM players. Damn!

A few things to remember but fans do not think...
1. This is a test for some of the players
2. This is a friendly game and not to embarass a guest
3. Not to let maldives coach who is there what CQ has in his sleeve for the real mach coming up
4. The players probably have been told not to get into situations that could cause them injury with broken legs or torn ligaments.
ASIDE from these there is a transfer and moving factor. All money, salaries moving from team to team has negative impact on players. They need to be stable with stable minds . How would you feel after moving from city to city or job to job? some excitement some worrries,.....
Also it is best not to be reactionary like saudies and make quick judgement about the coach, CQ

People who are critisizing karimi probably see that he was not the worst player on the field.
On the other hand if we needed khatbari or any other players that were suggested by members here for playing better football against Madagascar, then we realize that TM did not do such bad job at AC!
All in all this whole thing shows that how much the level of our players and football as a whole has dropped compared to few years back. And back then our players did not recieve such huge salaries.
It would take more than few years for Quirez to build a descent team on the condition that our palyers are also responsive and adapt to his tactics, and that is the bigger problem!
It would be a waste of time to analyze this TM and its games since they hardly showed any reasonable football. We can only hope for improvements that results in less embaressment for our football.

Korean fans would never say bad things about their team even if losing.
It was just a few days ago that TM defeated european clubs. People forgot? This is good so other countries will not avoid friendly matches. In the long run if you bring a gust and do 8-0 to them then other teams will avoid friendlies. This is also part of a coache's thinking.
But to avoid injuries in a friendly before a real match is the main reason for poor show.

Problem is that we think just because we have a decent international coach now, we are automatically going to win the WC and all issues are suddenly sloved.
Sorry, but the very MAIN problem (the whole IFF) exists and as long as these IR criminals breathe in our country, there will be no major progress, whoever the coach might be...simple as that.
That being sad, this was just a meaningless friendly after 5 or 6 months and CQ's first offical match, so no need to exaggerate IMO, at least not because of the match today.

Wow, 95% of you guys go through an emotional rollercoaster after every game..I am wondering how you live your lives on a daily basis.
After something bad: "WTF, my life sucks, I suck, my parents suck for having me, I should just become a sidewalk cleaner for the rest of my life"
After something good: "Jesus christ, Im so amazing, my life is great, my parents are a couple of lucky SOB's for having me as their child, I should be President of Europe"
How bout this: Lets demote Queiroz to assistant coach, fire his staff, and make Ghalenoi head coach. He can then proceed to invite the entire EsEs lineup, including "gems" like Borhani, and Omranzadeh.
We all know at least one fan that would probably pass out due to happiness if this happens

Fans must be patient, this is a friendly game where CQ can experiment and find out the players' weaknesses. Shame on the fans in the stadium to be shouting the opposing team's name - this does not help our players build their confidence.
Even Alex Fergusson won't create miracles over a short period of time so get real people and start supporting your team rather than despairing that Nouri missed a chance in a friendly game etc. This is a buildup process and they will get better as CQ begins to undertsand all his parameters.

People, it's CQ's first game, several main players (i.e. Nekounam, Ando, Shojaei) aren't even playing, the team is adapting to new tactics as well as new players in the squad. If you think we'll play like Brazil in the first game, you're better off staying away from this team and in its place watch something else for the next few months.
Do we need our full squad to score more than 1 goal on Madagascar? Our players natural side should even kill them...

We gotta be patient I guess. I'm not buying the whole haven't bounded thing. Our defence line up has been that same one for a couple of years and lots of players play in the same club team and they have had three practice matches already. Regardless, to have a fix starting eleven it will take time and I'm sure CQ will figure it out. Tough game to look past tho, no organization… however!! There was one positive, although we weren't able to get 3 passes together atleast we had two passes before we lost the ball :)

Do we need our full squad to score more than 1 goal on Madagascar? Our players natural side should even kill them...
It's this mentality that will prevent our fans from ever being satisfied. I agree that the performance was unsatisfactory but aside from our back line, our midfield and forward line was constantly being revamped. This is the problem with our conservative nature - we want change yet we're not willing to accept the steps necessary to achieve it. Some people will look at today's game and cite it as a failure due to our inability to crush Madagascar whereas the more perceptive of fans will evaluate today's match as a step towards discovering new formations and player combinations which can be developed over the course of the next 1-2 years in order to compete with the likes of S. Korea, Australia, and Japan in the final stages of qualification.
There's only so much CQ can do - during this year's transfer season, rumors were circulating of European offers for Ansarifard, Afshin, and Oladi. The fact that a player like Oladi picked Perspolis over a Bundesliga side itself shows were the priorities of these players lie. As much as we like to think of ourselves as an Asian powerhouse, we like to forget that a powerhouse team would play well consistently rather than for short intervals of time.

Of course I do bro., IFF is responsible for our football and the main problem.
Believe me, if Messi or Xavi were born in Iran, with the same talent playing under such horrible conditions, management... they would never have become such great players as they are now. Talent simply doesnt matter in football, they are other things that count and we all know about but unfortunately often try to close our eyes.
Not trying to defend TM's bad performance vs. a weak team like M. today, but there are many things we have to consider IMO, including that this was CQ's first match and he still needs to learn more about the players and our football.

TM should be considered a work in progress. We should hopefully see an upward trend. And like one of the members said, there is no point to go full force on a visiting guest in a meaningless friendly game.
Anyone who doubt CQ should put a picture of Mayeli-kohan in their wallet and look at daily - so they don't forget what the alternative is ;)

If Daei was playing in today's game, like the old times, he would have scored 25 goals. He probably would have complained though, rightfully if I may add, that HE and the TEAM could have scored more. He probably would be saying that while praising "Allah" and god knows what. "Not that there is anything wrong with that!"
Anyway, we played as bad as I expected. What is there to expect anyway? I know it was a friendly game, but .....under IR and their "managements"...... everyday EVERYTHING will get worse than the day before.
Well, lets not be so pessimistic! I know we can, I know we can.....
I love football and I love our Team e Melli, but what a waste of time it was to watch this game. The whole IR and IFF, which is part of IR, could go screw themselves!

Blue Blood, lol .. 25 goals? hmmmm let me think ... These are the stat in regards with Madagascar football since 1965 (This team is ranked 130th in Fifa): Let's go by facts as they speak for themselves:
The worst loss goes back to 1965 against Congo 7-0 ....
Last two decades: (since 1990): The worst losses are against Egypt & Côte d'Ivoire 6-0 ..
since 2010 :
the worst loss against Guinea 4-1
Madagascar is known for its solid defense and goalies. This team usually loses its matches 1-0 or 2-0 Margin
The best win goes back to 1990 winning 6-0 against Seychelles
The best win since 2010 is a win against Comoros 1-0 .. few years ago, Madagascar beat them 6-2 as well...
Has Madagascar played any non-African team ever?
NO... Iran has been the only non African country they ever played!
THE BEST RESULT OF MADAGASCAR CONSIDERING THE STRENGTH OF THE OPPONENT:
Madagascar has won two times against Egypt both times 1-0. years 1985 & 2002...
Madagascar was a strong African team back in 80's and mid 90's when they were 89th to 100th of the world ...
So stats proved that Iran would never be able to put 25 goals past this defensive team but it should have been a 4-0 if they had used their opportunities right :) ... Sorry but you were joking then right?

The most interesting part of this game was the five minutes of azaan.
Looks like the same Iran with Ghotbi. We don't have a powerful striker that can finish consistently.
With Ali Daei gone our options of a proper finisher has come to none.

ali daie has been gone for almost 5 years now.......we need to pick 2 forwards and stick by them and in 1 year when the last round of wcq14 starts lets judge them..yes right now our weakness is our forwards.
iran's national team always started slow and pathetic (just like in 1997 under Ivic, 2001 under Ciro and 2004 under Branko)
you might say this time is also the same, we will get better and better and improve.
sadly, this time, it wont be like that. We have a corrupt and incompetent federation and on top of that, we simply do not have good enough footballers.
Iran will probably (barely) make it to the top 10 in the WCQ, but that will be it.
