How does Uzbekistan run teams like Pakhtakor and Bunyodkor with only 14k?!

I think Japan and Korea's averages are representative of most of their players where as in UAE a few "Foriegn" players ruin the curve since they make in the millions. If you remove those players then their average would probably drop in the 300 K's as well.

I guess PGL salaries could be a bit more, because in Iran, there are always some under-the-table money and the salaries recorded in the contracts are not necessarily the same that are paid to the players.
Besides, there was a cap of $350m for the players salaries in their contracts this season, and everybody knows that many players got more than this.

Wow, I'm amazed @ how foolish UAE fed. is ..!
It's not like they get much spectators @ their games, not much TV or other marketing benefits nor that their NTeam has benefited much from such splurge ..! So what gives. ???

Wow UAE's top salary is quite mind-boggling. This comes as surprise, since their stadiums are often empty, population is very low, league quality is below Asian standards average etc.
I guess it's all oil money! ;)

mmm, the average doesn't give us the whole story but the median.
The median gives the salary that most number of players are receiving. Average can be get too biased by the a few "outliers" high salaries, specially in a league such as Dubai.

Being an owner is more about having a certain status. It is not about making money/being profitable. Their teams are owned/run by different princes who are trying to out-do the others. When you are a billioner, whats a few million a year worth to you? Nothing.
