My cousin, told me that Khabar Varzeshi, one of the best newspapers in Iran (according to him), is reporting that IFF is negotiating with 3 coaches for Team Melli:

-Phillip Troussier
-Thomas Doll
-Fatih Terim

I have no clue how reliable this is.

In my opinion we need one of these coaches listed below:

1- Branko Ivanković: The most experienced foreign coach Iran ever had.

2- Human Afazeli: A young but experienced manager who had worked alongside both Daei and Branko and could become one of the best coaches Iran could ever produce.

3- Ali Parvin: This coach maybe old but still has what it takes to stand up to the IFF. According to wikipedia - "In recent years Parvin has been criticized for the style of play his teams show on the field, which is considered by many to be thoughtless, ugly football with no real plan. Many also believe he completely ran Persepolis FC, and refused to let anyone else interfere, believing the team to be truly his own."

4- Zico: This Brazilian manager has what it takes to make TM a team without a weakness like he did with Japan making them fearless. The reason why i put his name in this list is because he is currently a free agent after his contract wasn't extended from Olympiacos.

I don't believe it, as the alternatives sound too good, apart from Doll.

Let Ghotbi do the AC and in case of achieving less than semifinals, which is likely, bring a good foreign coach like Troussier or especially Terim. Zico also sounded like a good idea.

I wouldn't mind Doll either. He became third with HSV in 05/06. OKay his team was pretty strong back then, but he also rescued Dortmund from relegation if I remember correctly.

Guus Hiddink or Dick Advocaat or Johan Cruijff maybe Klinsmann and Bierhoff or the Italian how made Italy World Champions. We can do that if we don't mix political with football and they are to be free what they want with players!
Also Miroslav Blazevic and Branco Ivanociv are good for Iran.

I think the best for Iran is a European good coach we will get better. Inside Iran we have Azizi, Estelli, Daei was not good only draw in games!! We have Jalal Talebi!

It doesn't make sense to get a new coach now at all. There are no more competitive games left until WC, any coach coming now is only up to cashing good money for a few months work and then leave. It's better to have a good foreign coach from 2011 until WC 2014, someone who builds his team and has at least a middle-term interest in TM. Not someone like Blazevic who is a big name but has no real time to adapt to Iranian football and buold his own squad, but mainly only lives from talking big, simply because there is little else he can do in such a short timespan.
