I'm really too depressed, angry, and upset to participate in any discussion right now. Honestly ever since the game I haven't been able to do anything and still feel pretty down eventhough I gotto go to school tomorrow.
Anyway I'll make this short. Saudi's first goal was offside (Once again we're f*cked by piss poor AFC refs) and the second goal could have easily been prevented if another player covered the second post as you're supposed to do (Very basics of football, corner defending 101 material).
That's all I have for now. I'm going to take a break from Iran's football for a few months. I just hope we can turn this around and qualify for the WC. I just want to say shame to the person(s) responsible for tens of millions of people suffering depression right now.
Peace
There first goal was a goal but the ref made a mistake...
so.. it's all even.

no actually, the player who scored didn't foul but there was another saudi player in the box who committed a foul. I remember seeing the replay and seeing the saudi player jumping literally on top of one of our defenders. If you look at the replay closely you will see.

Well From What i see It looks An Offside , So its a Bad call from the lines man We Shouldn't Be surprised . In the past games that we had All Afc Reffs were awful , Esteghlal vs Al Ittihad , Iran Vs Uae ...ect
But Take a look at my Observation
http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/8953/iranr.jpg
The Question is Why even our play marker is soo bad ? EVEN If it wasn't an offside the guy on the right side is completely Alone , Even If you guys think He wasn't part of the play it dosen't matter If we were playing against a stronger team The guy on the right could of been using the opportunity and Be part of the Offensive play .
And lets go back to the pass once again our players didn't cover their man . Why should the player be free like that and make the pass in first place .I think again It was Nekounam man's if im not mistaking . Same error that we did Against UAE . If you take a look at the video that they scored against us Emirats It is exacly the same way . Our Defensive Midd don't help out our defenser's.But on the other side We cannot always Be depending on the calls of refs Specailly on these Sh**ty reffs . Sorry for the language

Because our players don't know they are making these mistakes, they are just playing the way they like... Now you ask, how would the players find out they are making these mistakes and how they would fix them?

Nekounam never help our defense.
This is his problem.

I remember that linesman. He had all his calls against us. We had three throw in for us and he called them against us. Their first goal was a clear offside as our defense went up. I thought talking about this won't change anything but you're absolutely right. The second goal wouldn't come in if that goal was ruled offside. The Saudi disallowed goal in the first half was a foul on Aghili as he was going for the ball but a Saudi player fouled him.

Well He is doing the same thing In ossa From the games that I watched from him ! He is just a slacker when it comes To Defense . Its nothing that I am against him He is just One Great player Who represents our country,But he is Slow on the plays when it comes to defenses ! And every player is not perfect . but these mistakes are just to Childish and simple to make We should avoid them in our Next 3 games, Because I swear if we don't we will never see the turf of South Africa 2010

it's because Nekounam is a playmaker more than being a DF... we need a player like Teymourian or Pejman Nouri who run their arses off around the field for every second of the 90 minutes. true soldiers...

^ Now we are talking football. Nekunam is a central midfielder, he is neither a defensive nor an attacking. He is like Pirlo in Italy but Pirlo is a master in forward passes. Nekunam can hardly play a forward pass from the back, one out of 10 maybe. This is no good because it's like we play 10 men with a Nekunam.
1) He doesn't chase the ball.
2) He doesn't move without the ball when we have possession.
3) He doesn't go for the second ball, clearances from our defenders.
4) He doesn't play forward passes.
5) He loses possession quite often when he gets it.
It's not always like this but we have to say 90% of his balls.
Nah, it wasn't.

The ref mistake was not Daei's fault.

It was offside. Even if the two players have their foots on the same line the upper body will decide whether the opponent is offside or not.
please dont talk about ref.
Saudi scored a clean goal which was disallowed.
Also Rahmati should have been red carded and Saudi given a penalty on that 1vs 1 incident.

Exactly..
It doesnt look offside to me either..look at the pic Kaz has sent..it is the right angle to judge..

Their upper body? If their chest I guess is pressed out. The arms are not considered. If you are saying the offside was because of the "upper body" then it's a real stretch blaming this on the ref as the difference is so small it is a matter of 1-2 inches.
Point being: don't go looking for scapegoats.

No dear, this is the rule for the offside decision. I know that for sure. I said even not if, they are not on the same line either.

The ref mistake was not Daei's fault.
no but what he has done in this wcq is clearly his FAULT!
drawing 3 games and winning one game at home is definitely Daei's fault with the team's he's been picking and he finally got punished for it losing to a Saudi side missing 7 players infront of 100,000 die hard fans!
before you say anything else, drawing a poor UAE side away, drawing Saudi and Korea at HOME and only managing to win nearly at home against North Korea 2-1. In this WCQ, Iran has scored only 6 goals and ALSO conceded another 6. This is a very poor stat for an "Asian Powerhouse" This is Daei in charge of these games...

I also think it was narrowly offside, but why is noone challeging the guy passing and why is Ashjari running in the wrong direction while the others seem to play for offside?

OK Bro. Time to get over with it now :) We're all depressed but moved on. Hey, by the way yes the first goal was off-side but come on the Ref did not call a penalty for Saudis and disallowed one of their goals and in their home match also the ref disallowed a penalty. Let's not make excuses. Our loss was due to the combination of many factors, bad formation, bad luck and slow defense. The ref was on our side :)

You guys are funny, the ref should have red carded Rahmati .. You are talking about inches here..well, to me it looks like an off-side but very close call..this one up to the ref to call it or not ..Our defense was sloppy

Normally after a shot is clearly taken, such contacts aren't called anymore. We had a referee with us watching the game, not a pro one, but one knowing the rules.
He said normally this is not called, but there are some refs who do call it and then award a penalty kick and show the goalie red, so we were a bit lucky.
But for the record again: the first half Saudi goal was very correctly disallowed after a very clear foul on Aghili.

Nah, it wasn't.
You make a good point. Offside is determined when the attacking player last touches the ball so even a fraction of second makes huge difference.
However if you read the rule book carefully you will see that what counts is the furthest extension of the body part(excluding arms). I replayed several times and decided it was an offside by hundredths of a second.
But it was very close, you cannot blame the referee or the linesman.
It is kinda silly to talk about this now as Iran benefited from questionable calls on more than one occasion.

nope..!! one single brilliant through pass and well timed run that beat...like 6 or more defenders by the guy who was on fire, playing the game of his life..!!
not to mention a brilliant header goal he had scored earlier, which was wrongfully disallowed..!!
