but the main reason for our loss was the coach. irans game looked very amateurish. the players were far too away from each other and each time a player got the ball he started dribbling hastily, because there were no players he could pass the ball to.
our players ran as fast as they could only to get the game going, but they only got themselves tired.
a few simple passes would have made life much easier for us

try telling that to IFF. i think any iranian coach would have done better than this nicolic,picolic guy.either stay with local coaches or get good ones from outside.not desperate coaches from croatia.life must be hard in that country

The most disappointing aspect of this match was that it was a repeat scenario of the Beijing Olympic qualifier ...same stadium and the same situation.

Mossalman was a great disappointment. He missed two sitters , he was selfish and when he lost the ball , he did an Ali karimi , strolling rather than challenging.

KArim Ansarifard was he best player for he team. Mousavi was very strong , but he needs more brain cells and perhaps some more vision.

It was a bad loss and the dream is suddenly in jeoprady.

You are right Majeed jan, tonight Iran was really unfortunate.

But what I mean is, we have some really powerful strikers (who are sitting on the bench) and a much weaker midfield. Wouldn't it be wise to switch one of our midfielders for a striker? Because from what I saw today, our defence was pretty sharp and can handle some of the extra pressure. Like you said, one cross, one chance and one great header.

this how we find our self's every time we play Arabs. what we need to do is make it clear to our players that the era of not wanting to hurt out players feeling is over. we have to expect better from them and not say things like our players are young. or these things happen we should learn from japan korea and even k.s.a they score every time the chance for a goal is their and they are much sharper on their passes, they work with each other much better as a team. we need to work on correcting our our player mentally in all levels from club to TM. so we do not find our self's in positions like this or in ones where our players think their behinds should be kissed or that they should do what ever they want.
If we don't fix our self mentally we will always be finding our self playing weak and having weak arab teams walk over us when we all know we should be wining against them

You're right. Formations will not determine the quality of a team. However, when you have a very weak midfield with good forwards those forwards will have to pull back. Then they'll have to make long runs from midfield or the side line to the 18 yards and then shoot. No forward can do that.
