i can't believe hashemian is back in the team, if he's there i think he will play, which means he could single handely cost us getting to the world cup, you can't really say he's a bad player because he's not a football player i don't think even he knows how he ended up in this career. 7 players will be dropped soon, I guess more since taking 31 players to KSA wouldn't make sense.

Without looking at the previous posts yet, I strongly disagree with the following players being on the list at this point in time. I'm in no way implying that they're bad players, they simply shouldn't be on the list for numerous reasons.

Are you kidding!? Every time he was brought on as a sub in Hannover, he created opportunities a was a threat to the opposing team, even in his last days. I'll give you that he didn't perform too well in the AC but saying that Hash will single handily cost us a place in the WC SA is going too far. :nono:

Its ironic that some one is bashing Hasehmian for his club performance. Truth be known he hasnt played well for his club since the 03-04 season, however, he has single handedly saved TM on numerous occasions. Maybe but the core of the team is pretty much the same as the one that played in the WCQ's in June. The only players I've added are Kia, Hashemian, and Nosrati. 3 of our most experienced players, who really shouldn't have trouble fitting in with this lineup. But your right, without any friendlies, or enough practice any lineup that includes Kia and Hashemian is going to have some chemistry issues...

Kia's real natural position is right forward, when they saw how speedy he was they put him back in right midfield and right wing. Now that he is a bit slower he sometimes plays Right back. He never plays on the left.

Well, he decided not to invite Karimi. It wasn't a good decision IMO, but what does my opinion worth after all?:D He could have helped us. I hope it is purely based on footballing issues (which I doubt). But nevertheles Mr. Daie is the coach and accountable at the end, so he needs to have full freedom in his decisions. We need to accept his decisions But wish all the success and best for Iranian team and its coach Mr. Ali Daie.

Well, he decided not to invite Karimi. It wasn't a good decision IMO, but what does my opinion worth after all?:D He could have helped us. I hope it is purely based on footballing issues (which I doubt). But nevertheles Mr. Daie is the coach and accountable at the end, so he needs to have full freedom in his decisions. We need to accept his decisions But wish all the success and best for Iranian team and its coach Mr. Ali Daie.
Some of the invitees like Mohammad Parvin, I think is pur politics to keep Ali Parvin quiet. Guess Mr. Daie is heck of a lot of politician. I wish he could run for the president as well. If nothing else, he would have replaced Ahmadi Nezhad (that in itself is a great serive to Iran :D).

Probably you are too young (not trying to imply anything by that or imply I know more or anything), but there is this song by Simon and Garfunkel that goes like this

"All lies and jest, still the man hears what he wants to hear
And disregards the rest,...."

Point is we beleive in what we want to beleive. Parvin's isn't even among the 18 players listthat Litbarski current Saipa's coach (that Daie brought,) has for each game. Only in Iran, a player who can't be a starter in his own club is invited to TM.

Time will show, maybe I am wrong.

Another good one. Even German news agency when talk about not inviting Karimi, it mentions past problems with Daie and Karimi's recent comments about IFF. But Daie insults us when he tries to white wash it and saying he hasn't seen Karimi plays anywhere.

To be honest I am not upset about him not inviting Karimi. He is the head coach and it is totally his right to do this. But he has to have the ball to say, I think at this stage, I dont' need him, if he is right, he will be the hero and if he is wrong, he will pay the price. However, he is being all wishy washy and merky. That is what pisses me off. As if we fans are stupid and can't put 2 and 2 together. That is an insult to our intelligence.

you have been a victim of "eye wash" ... as are quite a few others here.

what matters is the final 18 who take on the pitch. not some meaningless list of 40 ppl that doesnt go beyond "words on a piece of paper".

I'd like you all to answer this:
1- is ando fixed ?
2- will shojaei be fixed ? ( we'll know in the next couple of days )
3- is rahman ahmadi fixed ?

but who is the top choice for the right mid post, then? is he as experienced, as skillful and as useful in crossing, set pieces, .... as kia?

I think Karimi is not invited for two reasons..

1. he bashed IFF
2. Daie wants to get rid of Karimi and Kia, .. Those two were the force behind the Anti-Daie movement in Germany.. I think it was those two guys that forced Daie to the bench for Portugal game..

the reasoning that Daie and Afazeli are mentioning for not inviting Kia, makes no sense.. we are talking about Iran's National team, not Holland's.. Iran's national team does not have a better player than Kia to play the right defense position, no matter how hard Daie/afazeli try to make that decision seem logical..

but it is very IRONIC that DAIE of all people, prefers younger players over the 30 years old Bundesliga player..

Either way, I am all for leaving the older players out and giving the younger player chance to get experience at a young age..

no behzad jan. my memory is totally shattered ... especially after the past few months.
It shd be due to my shattered memory, coz I dont remember daei behaving this way at all throughout his playing career.

in fact, I question my eyes even. perhaps we are talking about a totally different ali daei , who is different from that ali daei, the football player who used to say "an individual shd not be given precedence over the TEAM".

or the player who used to be on the bench of hertha and bayern and ... but knew that doesnt mean anything and your performances at TM matter the most .

or the player who saw nothing wrong with a 35 year old player playing in a national team and used to say "age shd never matter".

I really think I have memory loss or something.

All I can say is that I hope we start with good result against KSA, regardless of who is starting.. I like Daie and Afazeli as our coaches.. I like most of the players on the TM roster, and sooner or later we have to do without Kia, Karimi..etc. no time better than now if you asked me..

Even with all those guys at their top form, with Daie in top form, we failed to make it to the WC even with a great coach on the bench (Ciro)...

It's football.. we can win or lose with or without our European players..

All we can do is HOPE that the ball bounces our way

hashemian, rezai, karimi and kia before worldcup 2006 were at a much higher level than they are now and a comparison of their club situation now and that time clearly shows that.
