</td></tr></tbody></table>Iran’s national football team head coach, Ali Daei, announced the 26-men squad on Friday for the World Cup qualifier match against United Arab Emirates on June 2.
Iran’s National Team captain, Mehdi Mahdavikia, is back in the squad following recovery from an injury which sidelined him in Iran’s encounter against Kuwait.
Fully recovered Javad Nekounam also joins the squad after a one-year injury layoff, ISP reported.
Other notable additions to the new squad are Fereidoun Zandi, former Iran National Team left-winger who has not been called up to the squad since his appearance in World Cup 2006.
Another notable addition is Hansa Rostock forward, Amir Shapourzadeh--his first callup to the national team following his short spell at Iran B team in June 2007.
Among UAE-based players, Reza Enayati is called up to the Iranian squad again since his spell at the Asian Cup 2007 campaign, while UAE league’s top scorers including Mehrzad Madanchi, Iman Mobali and Javad Kazemian are missing from the list.
The list of invitees from Persepolis and Sepahan teams will be announced by Ali Daie after the Persepolis-Sepahan match on Saturday.
The national team will commence their training camp in Ardebil on May 18. The team is also scheduled to play a friendly match against Bosnia on May 26 at Tehran’s Azadi Stadium, and a week later Iran will host the UAE National Team at Azadi Stadium on June 2.
Iran is in Group Five of Asian World Cup qualifying tournament with Kuwait, Syria and the United Arab Emirates.

I just want to say that either the Mirzapour callback to the national team can be 1 of the best things Daei has done.
Or simply 1 of the worst...Id prefer Vaezi or Rahmati at the moment....
Also A few good faces in there such as Shahpourzadeh, Zandi, Bigdeli and Hajsafi...
Probably Shahpourzadeh's chance to impress Ali Daei, He has been nagging to get his chance over and over again....He will have to take it now.....
As i Belive he is thrilled to be invited to the National Team...
I am also hoping Khalili's amazing form reflects on him scoring for the National Team....
Like always , there will be some debate on player's selection. However , Ali Daei seems to be a person who is concerned with performance of a player rather than reputation.
There some brave selections like Rezaei , Biegdli and Asghari who have all been outstanding in the league and regular scorers. Selection of Hajsafi is pure brilliance from Daei and will only make this outstanding player have more drive and ambition to excel further.
I am not to sure about Rahman Rezaei. Although he has good experience , I believe he was a bench warmer in his club this season.
I am personally quite disappointed that Mobali and Madanchi have not made this list. I have been watching them in UAE league all season and there is no doubt in my mind that they deserve a place in this long list. Both players have been brilliant and made a huge difference in their team performance.
As far as Mirzapour selection , like Rezaei he has experience , however , he is not been in top flight division. Vaezi , on the other hand , fully deserves the call. His performance for Perspolis is a major factor in their success this season.
Overall...I think it is a sound selection and hope that these players deliver when it counts.

Majid e aziz ....for some reason I ad not noticed this forum much....and I wonder why it is less active, as TM issues are the most papular issue...
may be we can come up with an idea to make it more visited !
....................
as far as the selection, it sounds ,a solid selecction....may be only....If I had something to say...I would have added......Madanchi, Nosrati,Kazemian...and Bagheri.......he was the MOTOR of PP in this last season....

As the forum is for Team Melli only , the activity is related to the activity of the Team.
Of course I share your idea with selection . or rather not selecting Madanchi and Mobali. I am not too keen myself on Kazemian and I have followed him like the others in the UAE league.
Kazemian is a good player , but he is moody and inconsistent. Beside , there are many alternatives available that can play as good or even better than him in the present squad.
Nosrati is still suffering form his long absence due to injury. I don't feel he is near his top capable form. Again , there are others that can fill his role in the defence line.
Bagheri.......emotionally speaking , I would love to see him play even not as full time or as starter , but I suspect he does not want to do that. Bagheri is a gentleman with ethical values. He already declared that he wants th youngsters to be given a chance and he is sticking to his words.
His close friendship with Daei could also be a factor.

I agree about Kazemian and that the kid is very inconsistent...
With Mahdavikia injured so much these were deffinatly the times he could of proven himself and really gotten some quality exposure on the international stage...
Instead it seems like Shojaei is being used on the right side of the pitch.
With Kaebi also a bit far fetched from his top form..
But i like this squad.....
Its a good squad that goes to show Ali Daei is not afraid to take risks in younger players and thats exactly what we need i think..
With Hashemian back in the 2nd round i do belive he will be a great addition again with his experience and afterall recently signing a new 2 year deal with Bochum we can look forward to good spells in the Bundesliga.
But untill then i do hope strikers such as Shahpourzadeh and Khalili does well.
But the exclusion of Madanchi really shocked and dissepointed me.
He has had a fantastic season in UAE and should of been in there..
Whatever the reason that he is not in there is a pitty....
But also its just fantastic seing Ferydoon Zandi back there..whether or not he plays in Cyprus, you gotta love it seing him in a team melli shirt again.
As for Nosrati, Aghili and Bengar are more then capable....
Not to forget Hosseini who really is our new Minister of Defence
And with Rezaei back we can hope that when he transfers to a new club and with playing time we can utilize his amazing experience aswell, Because Rezaei is a great defender and in times when Nosrati or Aghili are injured he is a great replacement..
Good on Ali Daei for giving him another chance...
Teymorian, Zandi, Shahpourzadeh and Rezaei are 4 of our European based players that are most probably on the move and will be playing in new clubs next season....So we can hope for the best
But, Nekounam's return to Team Melli has to just be the icing on the cake..
WE have finally gotten him back...
And he might be a bit out of shape for now, but we all happy that he is back on the pitch and another great addition to our squad..
Good luck to Iran and Ali Daei....Ali Daei can do extremely well with time....
To bad Bosnia got cancelled and this time we cant even blame IFF for it...
It would of been a great friendly

With Ali Karimi thrown out of the national team for time being, And doubts over him playing against UAE..
We might look forward to seeing the likes of Jabbari and Shojaei taking over a rather permanent spot if they perform...
Which is intresting as Team Melli is finally getting new faces introdouced to the starting lineup

I would rather have Jabbari that is a team player + a good player.
What ive seen of shojaei in team melli is that he just dribbles but he dosent get annywere. + he aint even close to be as good as karimi is att dribbling.

I do agree with the point that Jabbari would probably create a Fantastic midfield with the likes of Nekounam, Zandi and Teymorian...
Jabbari is a smart midfielder...And probably leaving Karimi out of the national team for a while is a smart move, Might increase his determination...I see it as a good thing leaving him out....And am not upset about it a bit....
It would be a team working midfield...
Shojaei is doing well since Daei put him on Right midfield...
If he can control his dribblings he will be a fine midfielder for us, Atleast we can hope to see him in Europe next season.
We can also hope to see the breakthrough of maybe Hajsafi in the National team...that b brilliant...

thanx majid jan.
however, i dont think sattar zare is 187cm (177cm looks more reasonable) and i highly doubt jabbari is 184cm.
just wanted to let u know incase u know other sources u can check this data with.

Thanks Yashar... unfortunately , I have no other reference to check. Most comes from Asian Football site or other foreign website. Iranian sources don't give a hoot about such data.
If you can find any reference , please let me know.
