The goal was scored with a header by Fahad ALRASHIDI at 81'th minute.
It was aimed at right top cornor of the goal and with Rahmati at goal line ,he had no chance to save it.
Do you think Rahmati should have come out and handle that header?
Or do you think he should have stayed in and let the defenders handle that?
May be now that he can see that defenders can't handle covering attakers headers, he should come out all the time?
we have a huge problem if our goalie does not know when to come out.

no coming out. that would be even worse. dont double your problems. defense should learn simple man marking on crosses.

no, even if he came out he couldnt have get the ball. the cross came way too fast and low and far away from the goali.
that goal fell because our poor gholamnejad screwed it. he was marking the wrong player. the player who scored was supposed to be marked by hosseini and gholamnejad had to mark the other player behind him

there wasnt much rahmati could do about that goal, it was a well placed header and it was way too far for him to come out and try to punch the cross
that was just bad defending, he was wide open in the box with 2 defedners just watching him

im actually impressed with Rahmati, no doubt he has improved alot, despite those 2 goals conceded, which were both the fault of our defense

Rahmati is a good shot stopper and has good reflexes but I'm not really impressed by him with the way he deals with corners and crosses, usually a GK should come out and try to save/punch the ball with some corner balls but he just stays on his goal line every single time, this almost cost us a goal.

i fully agree...!
that seems to be his main weakness..! he was far more to blame on this goal than the 2nd goal..! he should have come out much sooner out of his box and grabbed that bubble ball that came off of hosaine's head, that would have been a routine grab for 9 out of 10 average keepers around ...!! and he almost cost us another goal, i dont quite remember when in the game but it was a very similar situation that we got lucky, we werent playing a more quality opponent...!!

I would have liked to see better reaction from him on the first goal we received..from his body language it looked liked he was already thinking/playing the blame game from the moment the short header was passed to him..even before the kuwait forward touched the ball...
He did none to stop/distract/block/close in on the forward.

although Hosseini Assisted and scored one, but he also singel handedly maid sure that we would draw Kuwait. First goal speaks for it self, second goal he let his man go behind him, so he was covering him on the wrong side, So the guy was actually free as a bird to do anything he wanted..

if sadeghi was playing the second goal would have been avoided since he is very good in the air and he would have gotten to the ball before the forward

There was a foul committed on our defender before Kuwait's first goal. The goal must have been disallowed.

1) thanks for the vid!
2) definitely hosseini's fault, no doubt... he has to clear the ball, instead he heads it towards the goal while being pressed by the forward... stupidest thing to do
rahmati was good in this game

While Rahmati made a couple of good savs no doubt. Rahmati like many other Iranian goalies is very weak on coming out of the goal. The other problme most Iranian golaies have is they stay too close to the goal line rather than come out and almost play like a sweeper behind the defense.
While one can say should have could have would have, in general events happen at 1/100 of seconds. So one makes mistakes as a player or goalie. That is not the issue. The issue is when as a player one has a bad habit (like staying too close to teh goal line or not coming properly on the free kicks and corner kicks) then that bad habits eventually in the long run hurts you.
BTW, while I am not a goalie coach, but at least what they teach in the coaching classes in the US soccer federation is that 6 yard box area must be owned by the goalie. Any ball in that area must be controlled if not challenged by the goalie in the box. As you might now, goalie is protected in that area, any collision in the 6 yard box (only) will be called against the attacking team. So taht is why Goalies need to totally own and dominate that area.
