Dome interessting things Kockel says:

-Peykan went to their highest limit to pay me(get me)
-In his contract is written that he is not allowed to say 1 negativ word about his team or coach or anything
-When he got the offer he didnt even think about it till Rainer Zobel told him Iran is OK and he should try it
-He likes Iran
-His GF is Handball player in German Bundesliga and Paykan offered her to play for Paykan's woman handball team

This is stupid. As I have said before, foreign goalkeepers should be banned from playing in the IPL. We already have enough problems with our own keepers.

Saba Battery had one a while ago right?

I don't know about this guy though. It could be something good. We need more international influences in our football anyhow.

It's good news, he's not a top class keeper but he's experieneced.

If he can bring any of his previous knowledge of the game to Iranian players then hes an asset to our league.

He's also advertising the Iranian league and Iran on the whole.

you think banning foreign goalies is going to improve our own goalies? If anything we should welcome decent foregin goalies, so that younger iranian talented players can learn a thing or two

All of our former great goalkeepers say the same. If we really want to improve them we need top class foreign coaches, not players. We have so many young goalies with the right physical attributes and potential to become great goalies, but none of them get to play because they are replaced by 3rd rate foreign goalies who make more money than they ever will for no reason.

I agree with the proper staff being brought over to train our younger, more impresionable players (U-18), but look at what happened with this guy. He wasn't even considering coming to Iran, until Zobel told him about the country and that's it's a safe place to go to.
now if we ban goalies from coming in, we're blocking our doors to so many players who can raise the quality of our league, our clubs and football in Iran. In turn there's going to be less players and coaches who will know that Iran is not as bad as they see on their TVs.

yet another idiotic thing done by our clubs !!

I second nokhodi's views.
instead of bringing GK's, if the clubs are so worried and want to waste their money, might as well bring in good GK COACHES to train our own.

bringing GK's will NOT help our league at this time. it only impedes development of our players !!
idiots at peykan.
I hope they lose BIG TIME , as silly as I may sound right now.

saba batterys elmir tulija is an amazing keeper, IPL standards ofcourse!
he is a big reason for sabas success all these years and specially good defense!

Kudos to Peykan for bringing a foreign goalie. I think that this is a good move by the club, as it will not only bring some reputation to the league, but also create competition between the goalies in Iran. Nokhodi is right about the fact that there are some potentially good goalies in Iran, but the only way our goalies can compete with foreign (German/dutch) goalies are if they had to compete them for their job. Otherwise they would not reach their potential as there would be no competition. I am however against bringing too many foreign players (goalies) which would create an inflation of experienced players and cause our youngsters to suffer and have no room in IPL.

Why waste a foreigner on the goalie spot? I'd expect a midfielder or forward would be more effective.

I think most of you have forgotten the higher priority which is our national team.

yes, bringing foreign players ( as long as they are good . which PLENTY of the present ones are not ) is good for advertising of our league and progress of the league standards. but it shd be done with THOUGHT.

what is more important for us? league or national team?
if I'm the IFF prez, I'd give TOPMOST priority to the national teams and then the league.
at least at PRESENT we shd think differently.
why is TM suffering from lack of reliable GK ? and what shd we do to correct it? definitely bringing more keepers from outside is NOT GOING TO HELP OUR TM get a reliable keeper.

even if for a short while, I'd say for the next 3-4 years, IFF shd ban import of keepers.
and definitely limit club's number of imports to 3. not 5-6 in cases of peykan or abumoslem or .... !

What the heck do you guys mean he could teach our keepers a thing or two?
He doesn't have coaching abilities, he can't speak the language and you think he is going to help out his competition?
He is there for money and doesn't give two s*its about Iran's football or goalkeeping situation.

True, in addition we'll have to wait and see what he is capable of.
