View Full Version : Iran opponent Kuwait played lebanon
The match ended a few while ago with Kuwait winning 3-2 at home after being 2 goals down. I just saw a few high lites not enough to to build an opinion on Kuwait team , suffice to say that there were many new faces in Kuwaiti team.
One player scored a hat trick for Kuwait.

Struggling against Lebanon is far from being impressive but it's always a difference if you have to make the play or if you sit back and rely on counters, the game against Iran will be very different for them.
The fact that they got 2-0 behind at home against a moderate team such as Lebanon is ......pleasing.
I know one should not take much notice in friendly games results , nevertheless , I somehow don't think Kuwait is the fearful team it used to be ...

Majid remember when Faysal dakhyel and Kuwait team used to be a top contender in West Asia at least. Not anymore it seems.

I think it will be difficult, Kuwait will play against us like Lebanon probably played against them - very defensively with quick counter attacks. And they are surely good enough to trouble our boys with that tactic.

Those days are long gone, in fact even the following generation was better than this present team.

i cant believe fox sports world thought that our group was the group of death because iran had no coach and was considered the same level of football as the other 3 teams to these morons. wow, even i would be a better analyzer

Yep ...you got it right Martin.
Also , they are masters in wasting time if , heaven forbids they score a goal.
I do fear the counter attacks....TM seems to lack pacy defenders. I wolud not worry too much about their air threats with the likes of Hosseini , Bengar , Aghaei and Rezai ( or any combination) being around. The flanks , is of course a different story depending who will be playing there.

We have to consider all of TM's apponents important.

I am not overly concerned about any of Iran's opponents, but they should not be underestimated.

I feel at least two or three in Kuwait team , but frankly I am not too familiar with this new team. They have some names that I never heard of.
I shall be watching their matches, though.

That's why Nosrati is needed :). It's always a bit hard to judge from TV broadcasts, but he seems faster than the others and yet is strong in the air.

our qualification will be another epidsode of how switched on our defence is at crucial moments.
We qualified reletaivly easily last time, our chances will be dependant on the defence.

just a note:
in AC07 I noticed how hosseini approaches his mark and also noticed that despite his not-so-great height, his jumps are almost perfectly timed and quite high as well.
but one thing that shd put your unease at rest is how he READS the balls and the game. things like where and when the ball comes down and at what angle and who shd be the recipient of the ball and .... etc.
and this reading makes up for any lack of pace a player has.
Baresi, the Italian vet, was one such player, who compensated for his lack of pace with great reading of the ball.
But I agree on the lack of pace among the taller defenders.
it seems only kaabi can provide pace at the back ! :(
nosrati:
at the moment he's not in best shape or form. so I would be quite surprised to see him start any official game.
he used to be good. but right now, he is not. his lack of pace, mis judgments, constant losing his man, .... are not just one off incidents. they are happening continuously lately which shows his loss of form.
NO player and I mean no one, even stars, shd not be included into a team just becoz they USED TO play well a year or so ago.
not only it is not fair to those who ARE doing well today. it also weakens the team and may prove fatal !
past form shd NOT be the criteria for picking the starters in any game. that defunct and deficient philosophy shd have left our shores along with branko.
