I disagree fully, with all due respect....

aghayoon, whoever still believes GN or ppl like him are qualified to take over our beloved TM...football is a very complicated game, as much as we like to think it's the old good simple game that we all love...coaching Football at INTERNATIONAL level needs knowlegde, it needs experience and it needs more knowlegde...our vatani coaches are not up-to-date with what is going on in world class football,,,that's just a sad fact,,,,GN's record against teams that we all know of their qualities, doesn't prove anything at all...he had his chance, a chance he shouldn't have been given in the first place, and understandingly, lost it,,,lost the hopes of millions and millions of ppl,,,,most experts pointed out his mistakes, but he never accepted it and ...the rest is history...we once again lost at the biggest stage of Asian football (let's now hope 36 is our lucky number :o )and yet we talk about giving this guy another chance so that we might as well lose a WC spot and then wonder what happend to us again?

I am just puzzled that people are willing to sacrifice the interest of our beloved national team and our pride and reputation at international football with bringing up names such as GN who repeadedly showed with his off the field interviews and actions that he is in no way fit to coach IRAN's national team,,,this not a club team we are discussing, this is out national football team.

ridiculous. regardless of his success, GN is an arrogant troublesome maker who thinks he's the king of football after winning a league title. other than that, he's got nothing significant in his cv. that automatically ranks him lower than many other coaches in iran, and hence, insignificant. and dont come telling me that he was defeatless in TM. If it werent for our great players, he woul'dve been doomed.

in the future, once he's gained more experience and wisdom, he might be a good candidate. but for now, he'd be poison to esteghlal.

Qalenoi was poison to Esteghlal. He promoted lompanism, bad-mouthing,
back-stabbing, game fixing, superstitions, bribery. finally he fell on his incompetence

It takes years to remove the ill effects of Qalenoi from Esteghlal and TM
he needs to start from afghanestan and work his way up

I think that GN is the best possible (potential) option for TM. and I think that he will do way better this time around.

but I also think that its not the right thing to hire him now, especially not for world cup

I totally agree. GN is the best coach Iran has ever prduced. No other coach could have gotten a better reslut at the Asian Cup. No other Iranian coach could have led the TM to beat Uzbakistan, tie china and beat Malaysia by TWO goals and then lose to Korea's under 23 team! He is a national treasure. If Pakhtakor of UZBAKISTAN don't sign him soon, he will be snapped up by Chelsea or Barcelona.

He is in the list of nominee because there was not many Asian coach coaching their national team during Asian champinship. Most of the teams had foreign coach and AFC does not give the best Asian coach award to a foreign coach!

Qalenoi is the subject of criticism from most readers of the sports papers
