Which team(s) do you support this year in IPL?

I am more of a players fan than teams fan (even though I have liked PP from the time that Abedzadeh joined them)...By that I mean that I like teams with classy and talented players and also teams from the cities that produce quality players or teams with quality coaches...I am against Tehrani teams that do not have any fans....Here are the list of teams that I support in this year IPL

1. Perspolis: I want Afshin Ghotbi and classy player such as Bagheri to succeed in IPL...tu dahani badi misheh for some vatani coaches

2. Malavan Bandar Anzali: Such a great team with a great tradition...thousands of fans...lots of financial problems but still surviving and producing quality players such as Maziar Zare (future of TM besides Nekounam and Jabari)

3. Sanat Naft Abadan: great fans who don't support PP and Esteghlan when they have games in Abadan...Many quality players...I like Ebrahim Ghasempour...

4. Shirin Faraz Kermanshah: They have so many fans and they are representing Kermanshah which has had had a top team in Iran since Kheybar KHoram Abad about 15 years ago.

5. Fajr Sepasi: For Shah Gholam for producing so many talents with no money..

6. Esteghlal: For Naser Hejazi and Ali Mansourian

7. Saipa: I like Ali Daei

7. Pas Hamedan: For people of Hamadan...they have never had a top team in Iran and this may inspire many local kids


Teams that I dont care about (they have lots of money and they dont produce half of talents of Malavan and Khuzestani teams; Just leach off of them):

Peykan, Rahahan, Saba Battery, Zobahan (for letting Korbekandi go: one of the classies coaches in Iran), Mes Kerman, Esteghlal Ahvaz, Bargh (such a boring team), Pegah (for lacking of organization they are going to relegate again)

You listed Rah Ahan as one of the leech teams. That is a huge mistake. Don't make a mistake, RahAhan is one of the teams that delivered a lot of and I mean a lot of good players to our football. Lot of players from that team typically are bought by other teams, at least before the revolution. So did a team called Banke Melli ( I think their coach was Rajab Ali Faramarzi). These two teams at least when I was a kid, were backbone of Iranian football.

it sux not to be among the top 32 teams of asia while esteghlal is leading the asian teams in terms of glories and pas is irans second most glorious team! the loungs are nowhere to be seen,they havent even made it to finals of the champions leauge once!!!

it is interesting that PP and SS always complain about lack of budget,
and there are constant news about their huge debts in iran and outside,

yet together they have spent over half of the entire transfer budget of
all the teams. indeed, these two clubs have purchased the most expensive
and talented players in Iran today. how can one of these clubs not win IPL?!

Also, playing for SS/PP, brings a lot of pressure with it, much more than other teams/players are facing.

But still, I agree with that budget and all those purchases, one of the 2 should (easily) become champions (on paper).

I ain't denying that, but you gotta admit that every team is extra motivated to beat the "two giants" when they're facing them.

And perhaps it's because of all that support and perhaps underestimation, that the angizeh of the SS/PP players aint as big as the smaller teams playing them.


It's a natural thing, I probably would also give a little bit more when playing Perspolis in front of 50k of their own fans in Azadi, than that I would if I was facing a team like Rah Ahan or Pegah (with all respect). It's a bad thing, but it happens...

so, by this token fan support must be working against them. I think SS/PP
players should have more Angizeh coz they are defending the honors of
well known teams, teams with so much Eftekharat. i think what may be
lacking is in the way these teams get their players. many players join them
after making a name for themselves. they come for money and fame but
they lack SPIRIT. this is what is missing in SS/PP. when money comes,
many things go away. these players feel they have reached the ultimate ...

i think the lack of performance is mainly due to problems within, not without
