SYDNEY, Feb 23, 2007 (AFP) - Australia have called up three
Europe-based players for their Olympic Games opening Group D
football qualifying match against Iran in Tehran next Wednesday.
Football Australia said Friday Queens Park Rangers midfielder
Nick Ward, Hereford United defender Trent McClenahan and
Danish-based striker David Williams had been included in the 20-man
under-23 squad.
Sydney FC defender Ruben Zadkovich (toe) and Queensland Roar
midfielder Spase Dilevski (ankle) are unavailable because of
injury.
Australia are in the second stage of qualifying alongside Iran,
Saudi Arabia and Jordan. The squad is in Dubai preparing for
Wednesday's match in Tehran.
