I think 47 is pretty acurate.
If anything I say between 35 to 40 would be a little more closer to reality.

i just cant believe that some countries that are ranked higher than us, ie Guinea and Honduras. And how is it that US is 16th, i guess thats more realistic than 5th.

there were 32 teams in the world cup finals, Iran was one of them, even though they didn't finish with an amazing record or perform like a very professional football team in Germany, they still scored goals and played tough against the worlds best.

by the way that croatian coach should be banned from Iran, the tactical play and disciplin of the players was horrible, not to mention Daei.

if it is our (a) team then we should be 29. if it is our (b) team we should be 40 and if it is our (c) team then we should be 70 and if Fu*king Branko comes back to our team then we will be last.

Guys these rankings are based on the results of the pas 4 years, the former ranking was based on results of the past 8 years.

You have to take the teams that didn't qualify for the WC into consideration. There were teams better than us that didn't qualify and 32 teams qualified in total, so the rank of 47th is somewhat accurate.

Rank 47 is very realistic for Iran. Which worthy opponent have we beaten in the last 4 years to deserve a top 20? I am very glad to see the new ranking system.

Youīve got a good point in Iran not beeing able to beat any worthy oponent...but 47th place does put us after a lot of worse teams..I think somewhere between 25-30 would be fair...

I find that hard to understand aswell...but perhaps itīs more a hope or a wish for where Iran should be.

They are at the right place at the moment. FiFA eventually makes sence in their ranking. IF TM deserves better place, let them prove it.

USA 16th place not fare at all. They should have been somewhere near Iran.

Korea = 30

Asia got less credit than it deserved despite it's poor performance. Japan is only ranked higher than Iran in MY ranking b/c of the 2004 Asian CUP since they won it. Remember, FIFA now looks back at the past four years not the past eight years like before the WC. Also, the performances of the WC are weighed the most for obvious reasons.

By the way, IRAN should be ranked above the following teams: Columbia (21), Guinea (24), Tunisia (31), Bulgaria (37), Honduras (38), Morocco (40), Scotland (41), Peru (42), Bosina-Herzegovina (43), Slovakia (44), Costa Rica (45) & Chile (46). That translates into Iran being 35th.

Where did GUINEA come from. Ranked 24th when they haven't done nothing in the last CENTURY.
