En daar bijft het niet bij. Op verschillende plaatsen zijn de ruiten van zijn winkels ingegooid, zo is het gerucht in Teheran. Zijn oude moeder zou zijn bedreigd door boze voetbalhooligans en Daei hoeft voorlopig niet terug te komen. Het is een drama want Daei was een nationale held in Iran.

I also dont think that Iranian people will threaten an old woman, it is against our morals and etiquettes. I guess they are exaggerating the whole thing to show Ali Daei as a victim, which he is not. If he is a victim , he is victim of his own stupidity

Ali daei was of course one of the problems team had, but its negative effect was not more than any of the other problems such as bad coach, player injuries, lack of fitness trainer and ... . If we didnt have the injuries and had fit players and a better coach, we could have done very well even with daei. Of course with a better coach 90 % daei wouldnt even be in team roster. I dunno how many times you guys saw branco say this. He seems to factor a players reputation and experience waaaaay more than how he can actually play now. He told karimi to play just cuz he is good in many aspects you all know, of course when he's not injured. He told daei to play because he is the highest scorer and has experience and has only been good ages ago. He seems to live in a dreamy world. He thinks just becuase they have the fame and they were good they could magically get over their injuires, lack of fitness and age issue.

The only thing I can agree with regarding your post, as usual, is the fact that you call him an OLD MAN... Now by no means is 37 old, but the way he plays- ok, maybe play is not the word im looking for- stood on the soccer pitch, you can consider him an old man. Everyone of us, idolized him and he would have gone in Iranian folklore as the greatest national hero. People would have chanted his name like they will chant the name of Rezazadeh, Kalani, Rowhshan, even Parvin. Not anymore. His name will go down in Iranian history in infamy.

lol of course we need Karimi. Right now he is one of the smartest players on the field. Displays good decision-making on his passes ever since he has played for BM. I really think that shojaei is the most intelligent player we have on the field. He plays one touch football very nicely, and can switch the ball from one wing to the other accurately unlike most of the rest of our team. Most of our team likes to play "kooche football" right on the sideline, that's why our offense always seems so congested.
