The humilation for Serbia was a Good lesson for TM and Branko.
It is a fact that Yugoslav style football, of which Branko is a proponent, does not work. Conservative Slowing a game, deffensive-counter football does not work. Playing with one forward doesn not work. Playing slow in front of the opponent's goal doesnt work.
Moreover when player play without Gheyrat like Serbians did today, makes the humilation only harsher.
I hope our players have learned a lesson now and do not play like Serbians today without Gheyrat and motivation. They should fight untill the last second!

well, not quiet right here!
Craotian football is very effective - so is Czech Football.
I agree that the best defence is to attach. and I also agree and always said Iranian football is strong when it is offensive and pushing.
But let us not forget we played well against mexico in the first half because we had two excellent DM's Nekoonam and Teymourian....
my point is system versus Portugal doesn't matter - what matters is GHEYRAT and JAVOONNMARD game with players committed to run and fight for iran
(of course without ALI DAEI  )

guys;
What does 6-0 demoltion has anything to do with Iran?
Serbia is a strong team that had a bad game.
eastern European team that do not have the technical ability can not fall behind 1-0 right from the get go. They don't have the ability to come back from behind.
c. Republic is far better than Serbia. Ira'ns tachnical ability is far better than Serbia. We are even better than Croatia in terms of Technical ability.
technique can not serve you well if you are not fit 100% and can not deliver your coach's game plan for 90 minutes. Serbia did not.
Iran did not deliver coaches plan fin the secind half. This is why we pt pressure on our selves.
Hopefully the next game will be diffrerent.

Croatia plays a typical Yugoslav football. It is based on counters. And not attractive.
Czech plays good football. Very strong. It is a combination of all of the good in England, Spain, Italy and Germany together. (Ps; Czach has nver been a yugoslave republic!).
yugoslaves are Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia and Macedonia

It doesn't have anything to do with the style. Havn't you read about the civil war inside the team? That's the reason of their play without Gheyrat.

Serbia. Just some exemples that I read in an article :
Ever since the coach decided to include his son in the squad, the players protested against him and his decisions.
Koroman said in the German press this week that the coach did not know what he was doing.
Kezman sent a not very polite sign, to say the least, at his coach in front of the TV's after his substitution against Holland.
Savo Milosevic, the captain, told the press 24 hours after the game that he was pissed off because of the coach.

MONDIAL 2006

I C. But I do not know if the players did a good thing. They are not there for the coach but for their country

Btw, Petkovic after the match said his mistake was to listen to the press and letting himself being influenced by the media.
The Serbian press had demanded a more offensive game after the 0-1 against Holland.

Martin what are you trying to imply with Serbian press asked for a more offensive game? Are you implying after the 6-0 loss of Serbia Iran has to play a chicken*** game and another copy of second half game against Mexico?
Come on man loss is a loss. Serbian example probably is a fluke and exception. I bet you anyamount of money if Argentina plays 30 times against Serbia they wont' repeat the same results.
Branko was the one himself who raised the expectation by talking about getting to 1/8 and all that stuff. It is good to accept one has made a mistake. Do I ever remember Branko tells Iranian press or people he ever made a mistake. Could you cite one example?

Serbia played less aatacking. In their first game they had Kezman and Zigic while in this one zigic was lacking. They came with a more deffensive line up and thats why they lost this big
