Were our strickers fed well ?,,,,,did we control the center..?......did karimi have a partner in the middle ?...did you all notice nekonam, during the game ?....did we conect our defense to our offense ?...did the midfield help the deffense ?......is, not makeing mistake good enough ?..... We noticed taimorian ,and karimi,,,but were was nekonam who had bigger role ?....Is being tall and good looking enough ?....

Nekounam have a defensive role in TM, he is not a playmaker. His role is not to make crosses. I think he did a great defensive job in the first half. The Swedish commentator praised several times, but in the second half his defense fell apart, like the rest of the team. I dont think you should blame nekounam for anything.
He had a couple of bad months, but i think he is about to getting his old form back again, cant wait to see more of him in the next game.
ALthough I do think Nekonam is over-rated but he was one of our better players in the Mexico match.
He still has some flaws though. He can improve on his passing.

Nekounam is only good against Asian level teams
He is over-rated and can not pick his game up against tougher opponents...

I think he did very well against Mexico, so did Teymourian.

Nekonam, indeed, has not recieved any credit he desereved. He is one of the best DM in the world. Watch the others, you will see.

Nekounam was what I expected - average - not spectacular. But I do believe he is a starter and capable of being a difference maker in any game at any level.

nekounam plays a very crucial role in our TM, he is the backbone of our team which connects the upper part of our team with the lower part of our team (just like our body). his responsibilities are huge but his "catchiness" to the spectators eye is little. most defensive midfielders are like this. players like hamman, edmilson, emerson never really seem to play a "beautiful" game, yet, without them doing their job, our team, just like our bodies will be paralysed as we saw against mexico.
i dont think nekounam is over rated, he is probably the top 3 DM in iran and one of the best in asia but one major thing that i dont like about him is his tendency to ALWAYS slow down the game. yes, at times, its for the benefit of iran for the game to proceed slowly, but not always, like in times or counter attacks and turnovers. Sometimes, he also makes EXCESS back passes which again slows down the game and kinda kills our counter attacks. i believe this is one reason why iran's abilities in counter attacks has kinda decreased (but our ball possession and passing skills increased, again nekounam plays a role).
i wish he starts taking his long range shots again, they were very fatal but its been long since he took a few of those good shots of his.

Its him going to UAE guys
He is even starting to find form and agaisnt Mexico he was better then he was agasint Boznia and Croatia and this is good cause we need him to get into form cause agasint Portugal we will need him and Teymorian to once again play good
He is finiding his form but at his best Nekonam is a great player and no doubt about it, Hopefully after world cup a move to Herta Berlin works out and he can transfer there

don't hope to much after world cup they will not be thinking of taking our players to europe they will be thinking of sending them all back we lost 3-1 to a team that only has 3 players playing in europe and our team had 4 players that play in europe and one that was being looked at by a europian club. think when we lose and lose bad to a team with europian players in it what they will think.
if our players want to stay in europe or move to europe we must be winning games and winnig them with lots of goals so that europian clubs can see how good we are not lose games 3-1 and think they will come running after us.

Back in 2002 Mexico VS Croatia i think it was
Croatia had all its players playing in Europe and Back then Mexico only had 1 i belive and Mexico still won
Mexican players play their trade in Argentinian and Brazilian league which is not far at all from Europens best leagues
It has nothing to do with Being based in Europe or not,Iran did not play good at 2nd half when we have to understand the 2nd half of the game is the most important one
Btw Iran has Hashemain,Karimi.Mahdavikia,Zandi,Rezaei in Europe
So to correct ur number its 5

Nekou played brilliantly ZZ jan...I guess it's just a matter of opinion.
He was great, along with Teymourian, as 2 defensive midfielders.

Nekounam sometimes reminds me of a robot on the pitch. He does not have the best physique for a football player. I personally like someone such as Mobali who is very agile and fluid, and can control the ball for a good few seconds to help control the game's pace, even dribble before passing or shooting the ball. We currently have only Karimi who can control the ball. Mobali would have been a great back up to Karimi or as a player alongside him to increase creativity and firepower. It's a huge loss for us that he's not with the team.

I totally disagree, Hashemian let the guy go. You can see very well in replays.

lol, i really dont know what replay u saw, but what i meant was the guy who headed the ball to assist the goal, HE was the one who should have been marked cause after that hashemian could not react fast enough, and the guy who headed the ball to assist the goal was golmohammadis guy, and that was the first thing i said when he scored the 1-1 : he made up for the first goal..

Yap, it was Golmohamadi and after that he never marked any one else. He found it they are too fast for him to mark, actually wise decision. I don't blame him too much, the guy was just so fast and unpredictable. happens all the time in soccer. Watch other games, you see.
