please move this topic to another forum if it is not the best one.
Who have been the footballing partners of Iran in the history? I mean some countries (WANT TO) play usually together for some reasons; for example Germany and the Netherlands. USA and Mexico. Brazil and Argentina.

Because of the Revolution and current Political Tension with Iran , Iran has never had really had the chance to develop football partners.

as far as I understood WC2006 he asked for irans main rival. and like the examples he mentioned, irans rival is saudi arabia.
but it also iraq, although they are no enemies anymore

do you mean rivals?
I think Bahrain is the future and current rival.
But between other asian teams believe it or not we have played the most official games against Japan(12), S.korea(11), KSA(10),Iraq(9),Bahrain(8).

You can search for any team V. Iran from 1930 to now.

right now (also since a few years) japan is irans main rival in the fight for the asian crown.
but the rivalry is only based on sports. there is no hate or any tension. none of the two nations feels shame or anger when the other one is above them or wins against them.
Do you mean like the DERBY for National Teams?!
Well, i think Saudi Arabia is always the match that all Iranians and Saudis are looking forwoard to watch that match.
